FP, you sound like a hardcore Congress follower/spokesperson.

You are expecting Modi ji to pass laws to curb corruption just after a year,

while during the many years of Congress rule, no one raised the point. I wonder why? Is this because with Congress everyone knew this wouldn't happen as they couldn't get majority? Or common man thinks that with UPA rule, "chalta hai" attitude is the norm? I find this very unfair.

I respect Manmohan Singh ji, but his last tenure as PM wasn't very fruitful to the perople of India.

Me think - we should give Modi ji at least two terms to make any meaningful change in corruption level in India. Modi ji seem to be trying to make things work. At least I havent seen any major corruption in the party level/ central govt level.

I don't have any deep knowledge of Indian politics, so if I offended someone, please pardon me. Its just that today is Friday and had some free time.
Next state elections in Bihar and the West Bengal will make it more clear.
Good thing for BJP is that party is not looking dismal and out of control at center, Modi make them look good and in control but Bad thing (for people) is they are not bringing in culture of zero tolerance to corruption, VIP, lal batti, black money, passing hard hitting bills, nabbing known scamsters and above all bringing prices down by repulsing the black market, these are changes people expected from them. So overall so far seems like India is not changing under Modi.
We all know that general tendency of parties is to hold back all the good things for first four years and release goodies in 5th year when elections are nearing. Is BJP working on that strategy and selfish motive? . Time will tell.

Fido.
For those who are dissatisfied with Modi/BJP rule this is not the first time in the last 15 years.
BJP have already exhibited their spineless functioning once under Vajpayee on issues like Kandhahar, Kargil, appeasement of Kargil architect Musharaff etc.But under Yashwant Sinha as Finance Minister home loans became cheaper. There were not many stock market blood bath like Harshad Mehta scam etc.
This time when BJP came to power, probably due to palace intrigue, the earlier Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha was kept under house arrest and Jaitley grabbed both Finance and I&B. He did not even win his Lok Sabha seat and probably will never win, because like Chidambaram he supports crony capitalism. By holding the I&B portfolio Jaitley doubly ensures that no media house dares to say anything adverse about the economic situation or failures of Modi government.
The current BJP rule has the streak and all the stings of the earlier UPA misrule as far as common man issues like price rise, fuel prices etc are concerned.
The BJP should look at their election financiers in their eye to say no matter what, interests of the people alone will come first. Otherwise, all talk of development will only be dressing up a dead body.

U hv all ur answer here.
Modi's first year rule must be seen along with is efforts to to curb black money.
Here is Dr.Swamy's take on Jaitley's Black Money Bill, which is NOT unearthing black money but what Jaitley would IF and when it is found out.

After doing everything to care of the water needs of the weeds along the waterway, but next to nothing for the crop on the fields, if Modi and Jaitley could talk about GDP, Development etc., we must appreciate their courage, audacity and the assumption that all of us listening are fools.
