Hi All,
I have over 4 years of experience in IT. 2 years in US and 2 in Canada. My Job responsibilities include a mix of BA/QA. I am interested to learn SAP BW module, I have good concepts of Data Base. How do i start learning the module, are there any good SAP schools here in GTA? Also i know many CD's are in SAP market, if they can throw any light i shall be thankful.

I read your posts recently, you had a strong experience in SAP in US and now working in Canada. If you can give me some feed back, i will appreciate it.
Thanks for your time
If you have a good experience in BA/QA you can continue your career into that path.As a matter of fact in most of my projects we always look for BAs with good business process experience. As a BA you'll have a better chance to get a permanent job as most companies would like to keep that skillset/knowledge within the organization for long tern benefit.
My wife for last couple of years working as BSA(business system analyst) in projects of varous platforms(SAP,portal etc etc).
Though she has a desire to get into SAP func analyst role I am advicing her to continue into current role. After 10 years working as SAP func analyst I moved to SAP PM role.My experience is all the projects(irrespctive of application) you need good BAs who will ensure requirement documented properly(via use cases etc),transfer to design team and then ensuring solution aligned with business requirement(via unit and integration testing). If you have good leadership skill you can move up quite easily with business process knowledge which needed by most of the organization(particularly manufacturing sector).BA role is also more generic like PM role and won't be impacted like SAP tech guys(depeneded on SAP market plus due to cost control even SAP func role are nowadays outsourced to Indian companies like TCS,Wipro etc).SAP BW (now BI) is nowadays also competing with other reporting tools(like cognos etc). That's why some of my BW friends already moved into other data warehouse related roles. In my current organization also we started using other reporting tool outside BW.
This is my thinking with my real time experience in SAP world
I believe other CDS will express their point of views.
Good Luck.

If you have BA experience then my suggestion will be to develop yourself as a SAP functional consultant.
Let me first touch on BW breifly.
If not "Hot" its a decent area in SAP, which is comparitavely easy to learn.
You can either pick a functional role or a technical role.
But if i have to pick a module, it wont be BW, i will go for a new module/technology in netweaver like
CRM 2007
SRM
Enterprise portal
Huge difference in billing rate and only handful of resources in these areas.
There is also lot of demand for SAP HR module in North America and its not bad from learning perspective.
As far as learning a technology goes, shop around, i know there are lot of Desi institutes in USA which give online training, that way you can learn by sitting at home.
Do talk to the trainer before starting the course and try to find out how much industry experience he/she has.
Thanks very much for the responses guys!!!
I am actually happy with my current job roles and responsibilities and currently i am working with one of the topmost companies of Canada. (Cable and Telecom).
I was just curious to learn new technology in addition to my current job, so if market gets good in a year or so then i might switch into SAP.
