A train stopped at a very crowded station. The passengers inside the coach closed the doors – they don’t want more people to join and overcrowd the coach. The waiting people on the station started knocking the door and pushing the door to get into it. After some struggle, as the people on the platform were desperate to get in, the door opened a little bit and a few of them were able to get in. The moment they were in, they also joined the inside passengers and started blocking the door and started shouting – " Close the door, close the door, it is too crowded inside; don’t allow any more to get in".

Does anybody have access to channel 26 CBC right now and see what is being covered ?.

There are announcing the pink slips from the federal government as I'm writing on this thread.

Federal government jobs were the most secure and the highest paid. These jobs were filled by whites and they are the first to go. How long will it take for browns like us ?.

The estimate was 19200 jobs and now it is 26000.

The ripple effect of this countless.

I do not want to name anybody but some of the posters gave hope to a professional couple in this vey same site last year and they are now on WELFARE in GTA. As the concerned people are also monitoring this board I do not want to bring disrepute to them.

Let us not give false hope when the consequence are severe.

I have given a negative response.

Why one of the hope providers/ yes Sayers take up one of these cases and prove to us on CD. They could help them to settle with jobs of at least $ 30,000 PA in their field.

Many of these guys have not gone through the hard process. They all immigrated 5+ years ago and brought in about $50,000 CAD. They bought homes at cheap prices with mortgages and expenses which can recovered by their spouses odd jobs.

If you want to have a smooth transition then bring in about $ 100,000 and buy a home so that your outflow is as low as possible. This will enable you to spend time on upgrading or looking for a job in your field. If not you'll be running around to pay for your expenses and you'll have no time or energy to upgrade yourself.

Incidentally we are not trying to stop you from coming here. If I'm selfish I want you to come here and contribute to CPP which will enable me to retire peacefully. As the CPP has become a giant ponzi scheme I need to recruit 5 people to make my cut and your family will help me for my CPP.

We are not closing the door but the Canadian government itself is closing the door.

Toronto immigration consultant Alli Amlani represents 252 immigration applicants affected by Ottawa's backlog wipeout plan. He's liable to refund $72,000 to his affected clients.
Ottawa’s plan to wipe out its immigration backlog will cost taxpayers at least $6.2 million more than the $130 million estimated by the federal government, says the immigration consulting industry.

When Ottawa announced in March that it would return files and processing fees to applicants waiting in the backlog, its estimate did not include administrative costs such as courier services to send the files back to 280,000 people, said the Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants.

“The budgeted costs of a backlog wipeout are much higher than calculated and also do not include ... liabilities of lawsuits affecting the administration for years to come,” warned Gerd Damitz, the association’s co-founding and past president.

The industry’s own estimate of the processing fees amounts to $145 million. That’s because some applicants also paid landing fees — between $490 and $975 each — upfront.

A spokesperson for Immigration Minister Jason Kenney confirmed the estimate did not factor in administrative costs, which will come out of the department’s operational budget.

The spokesperson said the department won’t return “physical” application files to affected applicants. The documents will be disposed of, in accordance with government privacy and audit rules.

While the industry appreciates the government’s attempt to bring in a “just-in-time” immigration system to respond to labour market needs, Damitz said the breach of contracts with would-be migrants will damage Canada’s reputation.

On Monday, immigration applicants affected by the decision will stage simultaneous protests in London, Hong Kong, Chandigarh, Karachi and Lahore to raise awareness of their plight and to condemn Ottawa’s plan.

“We want to warn any prospective immigrant of the dubious and uncertain Canadian policies,” said Preet Deep Singh, an organizer based in London.

Toronto immigration consultant Alli Amlani said Ottawa’s wipeout plan will force many in the consulting industry out of business.

More than 250 of Amlani’s clients have been stuck in the queue, some since 2004, and they are asking him for refunds.

Despite a $1,000 non-refundable policy, Amlani must still fork out at least $72,000 to clients for “incomplete work” caused by the government’s sudden change in policy.

“It will push a lot of us out of business,” said Amlani, who has been a consultant for 22 years and expects to cut his staff from eight to four as a result. “You don’t get new referrals if your old cases don’t go through.”

According to an internal survey by the regulator of Canada’s 2,000 registered immigration consultants, the government plan affects 63 per cent of its members.

Some 95 per cent said they would consider leaving the industry, while 58 per cent are pondering class-action lawsuits against Ottawa to recover alleged damages.

According to the industry, the backlog consists of about 100,000 files, representing both principal applicants and their dependants. It said it would take less than five years to clear for the backlog.

Well said.

After 2008 financial meltdown and with Euro Debt crisis in the shadows, if someone thinks Vandemataram is not telling the truth, I would say , please come here bring your savings and pour into Canadian economy so it will benefit us.

And then don't blame us if you struggle to make your ends meet

Please understand Canada is a very small economy with the largest intake of immigrants in the world.

Don't compare it with USA or India. Indian economy is one of the fastest growing economies and USA is the largest economy in the world and has the distinction of having the only reserve currency in the world.

Canada unfortunately has neither and solely depends on exports of raw materials like oil, minerals and wood to countries like USA, China and Europe.

Canada's economy is less than 1/10th of US economy and is smaller than India's economy !!

With just 3 crores population spread over a large land mass that is the second largest country in the world by geography, even moving from one city to another is worse than moving to a different country within Europe / Middle East. Add to that 6 months the country is covered in snow

Most population lives in pockets of southern ontario, vancouver, Montreal and a few other places.. Rest of the country is largely empty

You husband in IT might be able to get some break but I don't think it will be easy for you. I have seen a desi P.Eng. guy who lived in Canada for 20 years driving a Taxi.

Choice is yours
