What a fantastic post.
And what's up with that "T..s" and "M...s"?
We had same questions when we ended up buying a house in Mississauga/Oakville . But after a year realized that Workwise Burlington and Hamilton are as much accessible as Brampton & Toronto. And foused only on jobs in these area. Fortunately got a good response and commute to Burlington is much better than driving to/From on 401 East.
Beside Brampton - where else i can get comperative price..
I hv no problem with Desi community , all i care is safety of my family
Do u guys recommended any other place , such as Etobicoke , north york - Markham south ,Scarborough- not to far from down town radius

Thanks Fido, Sville, Sarvjit and Febpreet for your replies, appreciate it.
This was the information i was looking for, so highways are the only issue with Brampton. I dont really care of libraries etc, never really used them.
I guess if i can save 15-20% and drive 5-10 minute extra for highway then i guess for me Brampton is obvious choice.
Thanks a lot for so many responses, i am sure many other first time buyers will benefit from your replies.
This is really informative and helpful.
Actually i asked the exact same question to my Realtor in starting of December and he told me that he don't know, he said its one of the anomaly which he cant explain.
But he did gave me some comparative prices between various cities.
Like Mississauga is 20% more expensive then Brampton
Markham is around 30-35% higher then Brampton
Etobicoke is around 15% higher then Brampton. (He told me to stay away from this place)
Richmond Hill was 30% more.
Vaughan was 15% more then Brampton.
Oakville was 25% more.
Scarborough 10% more (He told me to stay away from this place).
Nort York was around 35% more and very old houses.
So based on this information we started looking at houses in Brampton and i saw different Neighborhoods in Brampton.
I liked what i saw, the only thing which he told me was to stay away from pockets where there are lot of truck drivers and his main reason for that suggestion was schooling ( according to him "most of the truck drivers/cab drivers are not that serious about kid studies or just don't have time).
Other sad thing i learnt was that many Old Indian Baba ji's in some areas (Near parks) make it difficult for young women to walk freely and they try to flirt or pass undue comments. I was shocked to hear that but i have confirmed it with different people and its sadly true.
So based on these two factor i am trying to narrow down my search on neighborhoods and then i will start looking at houses.
Its a long process but we are enjoying it.
Hope this helps other home buyers.

So a good reason to stay away from Brampton according to TK is because of Punjabis who work for low wages? .
