DT,
can you pin point any posts regarding your statement above.
All i know , what people say is :
1. We made a mistake of coming to Canada
2. We lost all money in the process
3. Life is hell in Canada when compared to life in India. It varies from people to people. For you life is rosy in USA/Canada. For me it is hell here in Canada and mostly better for me if i leave to India (of course people who support india donot care about traffic , sanitation, bribe problems b'cos it is not that much pain when compared to some favourable things)-Donot bring jasmeek in the picture
4. Jobs are harder to get here.
5. Maybe saving potential is more in India.

Just like you use both the facilities offered by USA/Canada to your advantage, what is wrong if some one takes the Canadian passport and leave? What is your beef/ peeve?
TK

Huh? My "beef / peeve" is against people who keep complaining about anything and everything about Canada (to the extreme that even stuff like the weather, having to make your own coffee or sex education in schools becomes a major reason why nobody should immigrate to Canada). Can you pinpoint a post where I have said anything against people acquiring a Canadian Passport and moving back to India?

My stand has always been very simple - Canada - Love it or leave it.

Now that doesn't mean that I am encouraging you to close your eyes about things that are wrong with this country. If you want to change things you feel are wrong, you must first start recognizing the things that ARE right. Whining about problems without actually searching for a solution doesn't do anything except trap you in rhetoric.

We choose fight over flight :D (NO PUN INTENDED)

It is upto CD members to accept what i have said, agree to what i have said or disagree. None of the rules/ experiences are set in stone. I donot see why you get upset as if what ever that i have said are legal laws. I repeat again. It is just reality as I see it. It canot be thesame for anyone else (esp. Non Architects).
TK

I must have missed something. What are legal laws?

DT, there can be a lot of reasons for a person who cannot go back in an instance. Not talking about TK, Jasmeek. Someone might be stuck because their kids might be in the last stages of school, and doesn't want to step on their kids decisions that they want to stay in Canada. Thus maybe to see them thru till they start working etc parents have to stay.

As u urself said, u do fully realize the problems immigrants face, the truth might be, again "might be" these immigrants have lost all their savings coming to Canada. The truth "might be" that these immigrants have lost their skills etc in the 2 yrs they couldn't work as an IT person, but had to work as labourer's and going back to India has become even harder for them losing all those skills.

and so on...................

Every place has their way of living. I support that. If the way of living for u in Canada is perfect, maybe for me the way of living in India is perfect. It's our own way of thinking. Both of us right in our way of thinking.

It's not only TK and Jasmeek who are negative. Most ppl. are negative. Always putting down India. All these ppl. grew up in India. Used up it's resources. Took up those seats at school and universities which could have been given to the ppl. who want to live always in India and make a difference to that country. Went to universities at govt. subsidized rates. And then came to Canada and even gave $1000 (landing fees) to come here. What did u give back to India for all that above. Nothing except putting it down every instance u all can find.

Except for a passport what has Canada given me. Nothing. I came here with my family. I lost my career. I worked 2 jobs a day 6-7 days a week to survive. I was put down by employers. Started studying again, paid from my own pocket. I've paid taxes for any work I did or do. I don't owe anything to anyone except for my own hard work.

I agree. I've had to work in a warehouse(including cleaning toilets), as a parking attendant and security guard. I see no point in dwelling on it. If I did, I am quite sure I would not be where I am today. I dont think I would have spent so much time on CD either until I was quite secure about my status in Canada. I wonder how people who seem to have sooooo many problems settling down and with performance issues at work have soooo much time to post on this forum. Yet they are working round the clock?
I think their bosses got it right making them work overtime.

Maybe not...if you pay peanuts..you get monkeys. :p

Is that what lana2005 implied?

Just for the sake of arguement wouldnt you agree that saying "most desi's refuse to grow" is also generalizing ? Unless you have personally polled every desi ?

Its human nature at times to either lead or follow. Thats why Religions do so well :D and who doesnt belong to the rat race? We are as a society racing against time to do everything..
