Our experiences here should help you in anticipating the good & bad things here in Canada. It should make you ready for the struggles that await you.
Life is not a bed of roses here as people think. So be prepared. I also thought I was prepared but after coming here & working for one year, I am having second thoughts. I think of myself as having gone thro' many problems in my life & tackled them successfully. I have overall a positive attitude about life & yet I have doubts about whether I made the right decision in migrating to Canada.
Many people (not only Indians) are discussing the need to recognize foreign degrees & experience if Canada has to move ahead further. Doesn't America recognize foreign experience by getting people to work for them?
Hope for the best & prepare for the worst. If that is being pessimistic, so be it.
Thanks & regards.
Rajan.

Also many survival jobs require you to work in shifts which can change every day or every week. Rajan.

Thanks Rajan & ptm..
I am very well aware of the situation in Canada thr' CD.
My husband is QA Manager in food industry with 13 years of experience..he is M.Sc. Micro Biology.
And I am Post Graduate in Computer Management but currently I am housewife. I have worked in software field for 2-3 years on VB/ORacle and on client server platforms..
My husband is planning to upgrade himself in his field.
Actually we decided to migrate b'coz he has lot of scope in US as compared to India.
My child will also start going to school by the time we land in canada.
He will be 3 and half by that time. I think I can even support the family by staying at home..by doing baby sitting or teaching in school.
UAE is not as lucrative as it used to be..and there is no way you can enhance your career. I think if we sacrifice 1-2 years and get canadian qualification we will be able to make it..what do you think??

Non illigitamus carborundum
I see in you mentioning that your husband has a lot of scope in INdia as compared to India. I thought you are immigrating to Canada , not US. Even if you come to Canada with the intention of moving it will take about 5 years till you get your citizenship / passport . Also the US border crossing is now extremely tight and regulated. Also you cannot say that you know very well about Canada just by reading CD. I think children go to school here by 5 years and not 3 1/2. To do babysitting / teaching you have to qualify here as these occupations are regulated . You have applied on your own , come to Canada , explore and succeed like many have done before you and many will comtinue to do so.

Hello Goldeneye...
I know very well that I am migrating to canada..
But many people who are migrating to Canada prefer it b'coz of its close proximity to USA, and I think many have migrated to US after getting their citizenships.Though it is not our sole aim to migrate to Canada, but there is a chance to look for work in US, if you find it difficult to make it in Canada.
In all what I want to say is there is a hope to lead a good future in Canada or US if you struggle out the initial barrier.
Babysitting/teaching (I know it is a regulated profession..) are just examples to cope with the situation there, which I can think of right now, sitting here. Once I come there I will find suitable options.
Thanks
Hi Chinumama,
There are people like us, who have moved from the USA to Canada and are happy with the decision. Life in the USA is also not bed of roses.Unless things work to your advantage, it is difficult to survive there also. Unless you have green card, you can not even think of doing any other job other than the profession for which you have Visa/Work permit.
