Sarvana bhavan, which seems to be renowned name in South Indian Authentic Cuisine opened last week in Mississauga somewhere on Hurontario st. There was a big ad in desi newspapers. Has anyone tried it out?? Is it a good sitdown rest. for families??

Where exactly is this restuarant on Hurontario? I live near square one so if its close by, I can try it out and write my review.

I will try this out this week and try to write a review. I've been looking for a good south Indian rest. for ages in Toronto. Haven't found one yet. Hopefully this is the answer.

well, I am also a great fan of South Indian food. I have been looking around for authentic stuff for quite some time. Finally, I have found one place in mississauga which has authentic madrasi taste. It is on dundas E, on dundas & hunrontario intersection. The indoor mall is called Newin centre which is accross India Town centre grocery store. This place used to be called Hopper's corner which was in the mall's food court, but now I think they have a rest called Dosa place or something in the mall. Stuff is made by a madrasi lady just FOB and uses spices exported from madras. Not a good place for sitdown, but good for takeout. Whenever I go for grocery shopping at India Town centre, I place the order first and then pick up the stuff after my shopping is done. Check it out!!

Saravana bhavan is a very famous chennai based chain and i have eaten there. I am not sure how good it is here in mississauga. From all i gather it is a franchise setup here.

Actually there is a south indian restaurant called udupi palace near gerrard street in toronto.

I am not a big fan of Gerrard street eateries after the Toronto Health Inspectors closed down quite a few places there. Were you here when this thing happened a couple of years back??
