Being from south India I know the authentic taste of Saravana Bhavan, I did try out the food at Missisauga, I did not see any difference in taste and it was the same taste I had back home. yes I accept its a Franchise but the cooks are from back home Madras, who has several years of exp in saravana Bhavan.
Do try out Onion Rava Dosa for which the hotel is very famous.
Have fun eating Dosa

Well i regularly pass the area daily, probably one day i will jump in to sample some stuff. What kind of menu do they have here? What are the prices in vogue?
I found their website to be http://www.saravanabhavan.com/branches.htm
and look for canada at the bottom left of the screen and navigate to their menu and location address.
Ok, I checked it out. It was really good.
There's a lady wearing a Tamil-style saree who greets you with a Vanakkam as you enter. The decor of this restaurant reminded me of India so much, its not even funny (one example, wash-basins at the back to wash hands ). The overall decor is somehow very unlike other Indian restaurants in Toronto. I don't know how to classify it exactly but you'll know what I mean when you go there. It was quite a lively atmosphere.
I went during lunch hour and it was pretty packed (about 40 people or more, mostly South Indians).
Service was reallly good too. The menu includes a whole variety of dosas or uttapam(ranging from $7 - to $9) or you can get a thali sort of thing (which was about 9 bucks). I ordered a Rava masala Dosa and it was really good. The sambar was good too and the chutneys were fantastic.
The cons? I felt the quantity was a little less, I wish my sambar bowl and dosa would've been a bit bigger. Also the order for dosas took about 30 minutes (which I kinda understand because the place was packed). The thali arrived in less than 10 minutes though.
Overall rating is 4 1/2 stars out of 5.

Are you there?
That's a good review. Next weekend I'm gonna check it out with my family!!
Last Sat night I checked out this place with my entire family.
I should admit that after sooooooo many years I had privilege of tasting authentic south indian stuff. Tried out idlis, dosas, uttapams, thali....
I wish I could try out more dishes.
As BL pointed out, chuteny/sambhar quantity was less.
The waitress who served us was a gujju lady.
The service was very prompt. It must have taken 10 mins to serve.
The place was housefull by 6.30pm. We waited for about 10 mins since we needed a table of 9. Wish they had a bigger place.
I would recommend all south indian cuisine lover to drop by this place.
I'll be going there quite often now.
Guys, thanks for your reviews and inputs..
