Guys I want to know if Multisystem (PAL, NTSC) TV and VCR is easily available in Canada. I am moving to Canada with my family soon from MiddleEast and I heard that it will be difficult to find Multisystem TV in Canada. Is it true. How much is approx. price for 25 inches Multisystem TV. Can you please advice else I am considering bringing TV with me. which ofcourse is expensive solution after paying cargo charges.
Its is difficult as well as expensive to buy a multi system
TV/VCR/DVD etc. in N. America.
If you have any material in PAL.
The simplest thing to do is to get a PAL-> NTSC converter.
Considering you have a PAL, VCR or a Camcorder with
PAL tapes.
The conv. range from $80-$500+
Where I can find PAL to NTSC convertor.

Getting multisystem is quite difficult here. i made that mistake. i got my VCR but left the TV and now all my tapes are garbage. So if you can bring multisystem TV and VCR, then you must get it with you.

Is that so ?? Multi region TVs are commmon in Middle East and I think in India as well . I have a doubt :
If my DVD player is region free (code 0) and I have DVDs purchased in India will they play on the NTSC TV or some improvisation is needed ??

Multi system TVs and VCRs are easily available here - two shops that I know of are 220 something in Gerrard street and Sona at the intersection of Dufferin and Steels (North WEst corner).
Only thing is that they are quite expensive here - I bought my Sony 29inches in 2000 at a local price of CAD 1450 - the same would have been available at Dubai or Singapore at that time for about CAD 800.
Bringing a TV/VCR by cargo is not as expensive - specially if you are bringing other personal effects to Canada.
