I was once upgraded to First Class because Economy class was all booked.
In my opinion there r various reasons for denied boarding.
1. Overbooked flight
2. Problems with VISA.
I have seen people being denied boarding because they did not have sufficient documents to prove their VISA.. I guess in those situations they are allowed to board on a later date when they have all the required documents.

What I am trying to find out is whether air india is short changing its customers. they seem to be paying compensation which is less than 30% of what others are offering
I will explain in detail of what happend actually once I gather more facts if I can. But once again please answer only if you have first hand experience.
My question is what is the exact amount you are supposed to get if denied boarding by an airline for a ticket purchased in Canada for travelling over 10000 kms and delayed by over 10 hours.

You are getting worked up unnecessarily - but not anwering the question which might help you.
Yes I have first hand experience of denied check in with confirmed reservation - but not denied boarding after check in. So if it the first one, I can relate a first hand experience, but if the latter, no I will not be of any help.
And if you are talking very specific - denied boarding or denied check in for Air India for a ticket purchased in Canada - sorry, I don't have that experience.

To add, I hope you are aware that if there are no responses to your thread for a while, it will sink faster. If you restrict responses by applying "ONLY" clauses you are not helping yourself. It will serve you better if you ignore responses that you think do not answer your question instead of being arrogant and asking people to stay out.

I know you and Chandresh were trying to help anyways but sometimes, just sometimes, if a person says please do not post, it is better not to. I did not want the information to become lost under six pages of useless replies. Thats all.
Since there are many irrelevent entries in this thread, I will open a new informative thread that will explain what to expect if you are stranded in New Delhi.
