Thanks Chandresh,

Is there any training I could think of while I am in the US or any in Canada? I hope to land in Vancouver, do you have any suggestions as to where I could get myself trained on the ERP systems??

Given your experience, knowledge and wisdom I'd rather get the word from you!

Thanks for the earlier reply!

Regards,
M2C

What I understand from various people/employers/employment agencies is that what a prospective employer looks for is actual first hand experience of implementation as a user, or have used that ERP system yourself - not something where you have got training in. I have had training in SAP, but that is not of much use, and frankly I am looking for a opportunity to be able to use or be a part of the team for implementation of any ERP system (SAP/Oracle/Great Plains) and am even ready to do it without being paid for it. So you will have to find some company which is able to give you that experience.

There are two facts here

1) The original question was inadequate. More info could certainly have helped get a more appropriate answer.

2) Fresher found Chandresh's "silly" remark offensive and commented on it. A lot of other people put their views on the matter, in a mostly civil manner. That is really nice for a change. Maybe some people may see nothign wrong in it, however I can certainly understand Fresher's point of view too. And Chandresh apologized anyways, so I don't know why the matter is being dragged on and on.

We strive to make this as democratic a forum as possible. It certainly should be a place where people can post their legit questions and opinions without hesitation. In that sense we should abstain from using language that may be offensive to anyone.

At the same time, it really gets on your nerves sometimes to keep people reminding over and over again to put stuff in the correct sections with descriptive headers and detailed posts. Sometimes the frustration gets the better of you and blurt out a word that someone might take objection to. In that case, you guys are always there to keep a watch and point out such stuff.

The important/healthy thing is to discuss such stuff and reach a resolution in a non abusive way. And for the most part, that's what happened in this thread.

So let's move on.

Considering both the events, its quite an inconsistent behaviour by the moderator clan. An irrelevant post can always be ignored instead of creating a rackus using the special powers assumed. Anyway, lets not argue about what went wrong with the moderators., coz, as I keep saying., we should never take panga with them..., or else, this thread will also get locked.

If this were really the case, you would have been banned by now. And this thread would've been locked a long time ago. In the other thread, you said something like taking panga with moderators here is like walking with some sort of a anti-lalu placard in Bihar. Here you are talking about a clan and stuff.

As much as I want a democratic forum, I'm not going to let people make fun of the moderators on this site. If this is how you feel about the adminsitration on this site, what the hell are you here for??

If you want to continue contributing on the forum, better watch what you say. I won't warn you again.

Back to the actual question., probably the post was for people like me, ;) , who can easily understand the simple meaning., Decent salary is a term devoid of any personal preferences., like if someone asks me what is the decent salary in India, anything in the 5-6 lakh is decent.

For me a salary of even 2.5 lakhs would be decent and acceptable - 5-6 lakhs would be a 'Wow'! Now does that mean that I am not able to understand the simple meaning of decent?

Alright, I might recommend that people asking questions about salaries, do some research on the web. its the simple homework you do before going for a job interview. Many job websites have salary calculators which you can get an input (e.g. monster.ca), why put moderators on the spot to churn out a figure for you? Unless you are asking their salary. Thats just my opinion.

i know sometimes we would rather hear personal opinion of someone and so we ask on this forum, and thats fine, but if u want personal opinion dont expect a automatic answer or an answer which fits your opinion of an answer.

Anyways not to take sides or anything but I too would feel abit hurt if my post was called silly. But hey, you are never silly if someone calls you silly..so fresher cheers to you too and welcome to this board!

All said and done, now you can have a look at this site and know what you are worth. The difference in salary range will vary from Canadian born, educated to new immigrants.

To me the word 'decent' means comfortable. I am not making 40K+ as yet, but i have managed to live my dreams.

Well., moderators usually run into such problems., as an example I would quote the following post..

http://www.canadiandesi.ca/read.php?TID=6374&page=2

JD passed an innocent comment with all "smilies "and "cheers" but, the moderators dint leave any stone unturned to chide him and ultimately the thread was locked.
Back to the actual question., probably the post was for people like me, ;) , who can easily understand the simple meaning., Decent salary is a term devoid of any personal preferences., like if someone asks me what is the decent salary in India, anything in the 5-6 lakh is decent. Let me give a hypothetical situation., someone from India calls up canada and asks "chandresh bhaiyya., mere bete ko $$$ ka offer mila hai Canada mein., is it OK ?? " .... I dont think anyone will start discussing personal life of the beta here., he can do anything he wants here., but, is the $$$ good enough for a living ??
Fresher buddy, Iam not in canada ., so, I cant answer your question confidently., but, anyway., few guys have already answered.., that should help.., anyway,. what I have garnered from other websites., 50-60 is a good salary to start with ., 50-40 is OK., OK kind... but managable if single.., if moving with family something more than 50-60 is good. Enjoy maadi !!!

Hi Kdevaneson,

That's what I understood and replied without arguing "if / buts" and regardless of personal choice.;)
