From Shaarabi was actualy "lifted" by Bappi Lahiri from an old hindi song...Name the song, singer and film

You will be surprised b the answer !

Interestingly, the song from "Nagin" sung by Hemant Kumar and Lata is based on same tune - "Gori Chhod De Patang........." I think, both the song trace their roots to some Bengali song.

I was under impression that the "Sharaabi" song was based on "Dil Mein Pyaar Ka Toofan, Na Samjhe Koi Nadaan, Jhaalim Gur Gur Ke, Dekhe Door Door Se"

Nope it was allah megh de ....by SDB

But apparently Bappi admitted to the fact that it was lifted from a bangla folk song. "So whats the big deal ! I am only popularizing Bangla folk songs " Had it been here, he would have been sued for that ..but alas thats India my friend

Does anybody recollect that wonderful song "Mera Chaand Mujhe Aaya Hai Nazar" from Mr. Aashiq starring Saif Ali Khan and Twinkle Khanna? The song is sung by Kumar Sanu

If anybody still remembers that song, can you identify the original song through which Mr. Aashiq song is inspired?
