The movie has got the best opening of the any bollywood movies in US and Canada.
Thank You the Gujarat Bhai and Bens in US and the others in Canada.
A special Kemcho to the Patel community in US the largest Desi population who have gone in droves to support this movie in USA.
The movie is doing good business in metros, while people are not able to connect in the rural areas.
The movie will be declared a semi-hit to a hit, while 3 Idiots has been declared the Biggest Block Buster of all times.
Monday will be the make or break day for MNIK.
I wish Balasaab and Shiv Sena kept quiet until the movie released so the initial curiosity would not be evolved to do this business.
Good copies are all over the place on internet. Need to google as watch MNIK online for free.
Foxlight has to do a minimum business of INR 300 Crores to see a profit on their INR 100 Crore investment on MNIK.
The losses on the initial day will be covered by insurance and will be paid for the people of the Republic Of India through higher premiums on their residential, auto and other insurance portfolios.
The RDX of Pune blast has been traced to Karachi, the Indian Mujahideen leader behind this plot also has been traced to Karachi. Dawood Bhai and his family is well settled in Karachi/Lahore.
MNIK has done outstanding business in Karachi and this is the first movie in a long time to have 3 continuous shows housefull. The tweeter pages and the website launched in support of MNIK has messages from Pakistanis in droves thanking SRK for showing their real status in the western world through this movie and his support for IPL players in Pakistan.

Dear Manserwadekarji,
I will not say this as a 20 minute wasted time.
Do you know what is Peak OIL ?.
This movie is the same for the muslims of India atleast.
When history will look back on the status of Indian muslims the two most synonmous dates will be December 6th 1992 and 13th February 2010.
I've been personally monitoring various trade sites, review columns and also blogs and tweeter pages and NO movie in the Indian history has raised the passion of Indian muslims like this before.
The very same people who hated Kurbaan from KJo want this movie to be the biggest hit.
Mark My Words!.
13th February 2010 - the date that changed Indian history.

Sunny Leone a true Canadian DESI now back in India !.
It is official the movie(s) distributor will not recover his cost.
The movie has slumped in boxoffice in India and the saving grace was USA and Canada.
The word to mouth is not good enough to sustain the movie.
You cannot launch a movie promoted by Burkha Dutt and Gang.
The backlash from the muslim community has started from the muslim community asking SRK to apologize to them.
Poor SRK caught between the rock and the hard place.

MNIK: After record opening comes the slump
February 15, 2010 17:14 IST
My Name is Khan opened with a bang at the box office, earning a whopping Rs 85 crores (US $18m), but it saw a drop in business from Monday as the word of the mouth was not good enough to sustain the film.
Though many critics loved it and so did the classes, the masses overall seem to be in a rejection mode.
Says Komal Nahta, Bollywood trade analyst, \"On the whole, My Name Is Khan is far from entertaining and also too boring for the general masses. For the heavy budget at which it has been made, it will keep its worldwide distributors (Fox Searchlight) in the red. Business in big cities, especially in South India [ Images ], Muslim centres and overseas will be better but it will be below the mark in North India as also in smaller centres and single-screen cinemas. It may be appreciated by the class audience but the masses will reject the film.\"
The buzz for the film was huge ever since the controversy between Shah Rukh Khan and Shiv Sena broke out.
Sena supremo Bal Thackeray demanded that Shah Rukh Khan apologise to the nation after he said in a press conference that he wished if Pakistani players could play in IPL 3.
This created a furore and Thackeray ordered Shiv Sainiks to see that the film was not released in Mumbai and Maharashtra.
The police gave extra protection to almost every theatre and multiplex for a peaceful screening and amidst tension people came out in hordes to watch the film in Mumbai as well as other parts of the country.
\"The curiosity value is over, it seems. The picture has suffered a considerable drop in collections on Monday,\" said Vinod Mirani, another Bollywood trade analyst.
Added Amod Mehra, another trade analyst, \"At this moment, it appears the film will not be able to recover the cost because it has been sold at a high price.\"
Asked about critics loving the film and some of them even giving five stars rating, Mehra said, \"Earlier there were paid previews of the film, now there is paid review of the film.\"
Naysayers notwithstanding, the film had a spectacular opening for the first weekend.
In a statement, Karan Johar , producer and director of the film said, \"I am overwhelmed by the unprecedented audience response for our film. The audience has the power and more power to them.\"
\"The most exciting part,\" says Vijay Singh, CEO Fox Star Studios, \"is that the worldwide collections jumped every day from Friday to Saturday to Sunday. This shows that the audience is absolutely loving Rizwan and Mandira.\"
Fox has distributed My Name is Khan worldwide.

Box Office: Kurban 2. MNIK embarks on a Monday crash pattern, set to flop
Monday, February 15, 2010
As expected, boosted by the Pakistani/mideast populations, My Name is Khan got the initial response overseas but not Hollywood-challenging to the tune of $1.8 mil in USA in gross where they are incidentally celebrating the President's day weekend. But more importantly, the post-release reports neither there in America nor especially in the mainland India are painting a good sign for the Shahrukh Khan-Kajol film in the days to come.
Across the country, the post-release reports are flat out mixed to very poor, belying the 5 and occassionally even 5.5 star scale-exceeding ratings that were relayed ahead of the release in Indian media. This incidentally had happened with Kurbaan too. Quite the contrary are the public reports of this movie.
Infact when it's all said and done, Karan Johar and Shahrukh Khan may actually thank Shiv Sena for creating enough controversy for the film to manage a respectable collection in the opening weekend in the metros atleast.
Because the actual box office pattern for MNIK in India went like this:
On Friday the film could not release as planned in Maharashtra, North Karnataka, parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Orissa and even a couple places in Delhi-UP. It lost out in major centers like Pune, Nasik altogether. In Mumbai, India's biggest center where it was to release on over 105 theaters, when it released on afternoon shows it was in only handful of multiplexes (Fun republic etc.), MNIK took to 70-75% occupancies which was below expectation considering the media frenzy. In the interiors as reported occupancies were dismal, in the tune of 25-30% (even lesser in many cases).
On Saturday, the film did release in about 49 halls in Mumbai and in afternoon in Pune. This continued through Saturday evening till the terror blasts shook Pune putting Pune back to square one. Nonetheless Saturday and Sunday saw pickups for the film recording 80-95% collections in majority of multiplexes across the board which is quite good.
But after the curiosity triggered by the various controversies, the merits of the film as a box office power have to take over, and this is where the Karan Johar-Shahrukh Khan-Kajol film is unable to stand the test. The cracks for the film started around Sunday night shows, even as most of Sunday was advance booked on Saturday itself.
But Monday tends to be a make or break situation for any film, regardless of controversy or not. The worst fear for MNIK apart from the tensions of Friday would have been the much feared Monday crash, and unfortunately for the film now, that is indeed happening as Monday morning opened nationally to poor to dismal response compared to Friday which wasn't all that to begin with, and advance for Monday night is not showing much hope. In some multiplexes where Sunday went 85-90%. Monday is looking to end up doing just 8-9% (though some are around 30%).
The situation is somewhat better in Hyderabad and Delhi which has a sizeable muslim population but it may not hold there either as it has gone down in the nearby regions. Same in Jaipur, Kanpur, Ahmedabad etc.
The Karan Johar film never had much of a chance in the interiors of India and can already be dubbed a flop there. At this point, the 100 crore Fox Star Studios venture which has been billed as followup to Slumdog Millionaire, needs over 250+ crore gross revenues; but it is likely going to end up coming up short and lose by a long distance.

Sunny Leone a true Canadian DESI now back in India !.
Now the secular media has stopped to work.
No box office news coming out on MNIK.
The same guys who said outstanding opening, record opening, records smashed has all gone into hiding.
None of the Bollywood trade sites have updated collection.
People are making statements without actual collection reports on their website.
Poor RGV he made a movie called RANN exactly on this subject, where the secular media in India like Roy, Burkha Dutt, Sardesai and company have played with information and misleading under the instructions from 10, Janpath road and that movie is offically a FLOP.
People do not want to read the truth.
MNIK will be a lesson for future and hope this movie will make Foxlight and others to rethink their strategies in future.
A decent low budget movie called striker on similar subject made at low costs and was released to all on YOUTUBE was a flop. The distributor wanted everybody to try the movie out before going to the theater. The Indian public rejected this movie.
While they risked their lives to add a few more crores to a guy who will now fly away to his riches in Dubai.
May be Dharma Productions and company can relocate to Pollywood. The movies can be made under D company finances, distributed by A company and seen by them, while we will face bomb blasts in India.
A big thumbs down to Shiva Sena and Balasaheb to make a Nothing into Something.
