Hi,
Here is my new situation.

Background:-
1. I am Canadian Citizen (son)
2. I have my parents living with me - who are dependent and I sponsored their PR
3. I have been offered a transfer to USA by my existing company

I am planning to move to USA for work and obviously I will have to take my parents with me as they are dependents and cannot stay in Canada by themselves (due to language, weather and physical conditions)

They have just completed 6 months in Canada as Permanent Residents.

Question :-

1. Can they maintain PR status by living in USA with me?
2. Can they apply for Canadian Citizenship after completion of 3 years in USA with me. (My assumption under - Subsection 28(1) of the IRPA) they are allowed to maintain PR.

Answer only if you know "for sure", please avoid guess work my friends.

1. Yes, as long as they comply with the residency rules and return to Canada within the allowed time frame.
2. No. Not until they complete the residency by living in Canada for the required time.
