PAN Card - Does it come by Regular Canada Post mail or Courier ?

I am going to India for a couple of months . Will be staying with friends and relatives.
I will be applying for PAN card from India , but it will be mailed to my Canadian addy .
Will this come by courier ( where someone has to sign to receive it ) or by ordinary canada post.
I hope it comes by ordinary canada post where no signature is required to accept it , since no one will be at my home to receive it ( since I will be India ) . If it comes by regular Canada Post mail, it will be dropped in my locked community postal box and I will pick it up later on.
Has anyone applied for PAN card from Canada , and how was it delivered to you in Canada ?
Was it delivered by a courier or registered mail where a signature was required to accept it when it came to Canada or Did it come with your regular mail where NO signature was required to accept it and was just dropped in your mail box.

Good thing that you mentioned that you will be spending some time in India. You can accomplish a lot of things while you are there.
The cost of a PAN Card in India is under Rs.100/- for Indians. You will have to get a set of pictures and you can get them under Rs.100/- for 10 of them. The Pan Application looks like this (See Under) and slowly start to fill the same. Please keep a copy for your files.
You personally go and deposit the same with their offices in the town you live.
You give the address where you will be spending your time and within SIX Weeks they will deliver there in India. If not, authorize your relatives to sign for you, there is a postal form that authorizes them to receive the same on your behalf. They can either forward the same to you after they collect or keep it.
While you are there, try and get hold of an accountant or an AUDITOR to do the TAX Filing for you EACH Year if you are going to have any Income Tax to Pay. Authorize them to do the Filing, they have forms that will help you get this set up with them. Pay their annual fees, that should keep them happy too.
