Desi babu 70 has retired until next election. You will see a revival of his posts in 2015 or earlier if and when elections are held....and he says he is not an agent of conservative.

as and when I have time.
you can put as many  as you want Mr. sant but that doesn't make you any more funny than you already are.

I could equally easily say that you are an agent of the Liberal party.
freedom of speech means you can spew whatever silly allegations you may want.

but let's focus on the issue raised by the first post.
it is a genuine concern for many desis, including myself.
my parents immigration has been in the queue for many years now.
so let's understand what is going on and why the govt. is being forced to take this step.

we do have a looming social system crisis in Canada.
no one can deny that.
health care, pensions, social benefits...everything.
there is no money tree from where we can pluck money like green apples year after year.
someone has to pay for it.

it is because of the immigration insanity of the liberal governments for decades and decades that we are in this situation.
just as they like to spend, they like new immigrants.
why?
- because it builds a vote bank.
- because it provides a pool of people that will work hard and pay taxes
- because it provides a pool of people that will do the menial, low end jobs while the liberal fat cats can do all the cushy, \"babu\" jobs.

and that is exactly what has been going on here - building vote banks and a permanent pool of tax payers.
it's like a money printing machine for the liberal tax and spend governments like Trudeau and Mcguinty.

the pace of immigration has accelerated in the 1990s and 2000s.
they kept increasing immigration quotas every year, year after year.
what do you think was going to be the result of that?

i distinctly remember jean chrétien's govt. repeatedly telling us that we need more and more immigrants.
Bill C-11 was the last of the big changes that liberalized refugees influx as well.
most of you probably do not remember it...it was over 10 years ago.

and then, as if that was not enough, they further liberalized the provincial immigration program, bringing in even more immigrants.
the provincial program was an even bigger fraud - those that couldn't qualify under federal scheme would simply apply under provincial scheme and qualify.
so what if they had to work in the same province for a few years.

and finally, to appease the separatist militants in Quebec and appease the PQ, they allowed them substantially increase the number of french immigrants, most of which are actually from middle east and north africa, not from France.

anyhow, where we are today is a result of that insane policy of increasing immigration year after year.

is this result any surprise?

finally after over 25 years we have a govt. that is at least partially trying to address the issue.
the reforms to skilled immigration program made in 2006 and in 2010 were very, very important and good reforms.
now the system is driven only by in-demand skills.
immigration is fast (6 months). you either qualify or you don't.
if you do, you are processed and cleared within 6 months (from most jurisdictions).
if you have a confirmed job, it could be as fast as 3 months.

or maybe you prefer the old days when it used to take between 3 to 5 years?

those of you that only like to whine and whine about immigration, just look around you at other countries.
how long does it take to immigrate your parents in the USA? thought about that?
what about the UK?
what about France?

Today Canada is at the fore-front of freedom and multi-culturism.
it is the only remaining country (with a partial exception of Australia) that still allows open immigration.
it provides the fastest citizenship.
and without question it still provides the FASTEST permanent immigration for parents and grandparents.
even if it takes 6 years, it is still the fastest, compared with other western countries.

and it has the most lenient/lax residency requirements, allowing parents to live here only 2 out of every 5 year period, accumulated.

show me one country that still does all of the above.

some people just like to whine and whine, no matter what

so you have no interest in discussing and debating issues and matters rationally.
you are only interesting in calling names and silly allegations to anyone that doesn't agree with you.

very rational and mature. Cool
