Hi everyone,

My in-laws got the visa on April 4 2009 and expires it on Oct 3rd.Somebody told me that visa validity is from the date of issue from India and others opinion is Visa office issues visa at Canada's airport and that day is considerend as day 1 of their total visa period. so 3months or 6 months whatever the case may be is from arrival in Canada.

Can anyone tell me how does it work? they will have to go back to India before or on 3rd Oct or they will get visa at Canada airport and from that date 6 monhts start??

They need to enter Canada on or before 3rd October and can stay for a maximum of 6 months from the date of entry.
No further visa will be issued at the airport.
If they need to stay beyond 6 months from the date of entry, they will need to apply for an extension before the end of 6 months.
