My Bell cellphone contract ended lastmonth. Planning to switch to Fido(Pay as you go service), but I would like to keep the same phone number.

1. Do I have to take the service with Fido first and then cancel with Bell? OR
2.Do I have to call Bell first?

Please advise.

For LNP (Local number portability) to work talk to Fido first. Then talk to bell to cancel. Let fido reps advise you. The process takes between 2 hours to 5 business days.

Dont cancel with Bell without dealing with Fido else you wont get the same number. Thats the whole deal about LNP.
