my mother got 3 month visa to visit , anyone please let me know how can i extend it and how long it take to extend

What do you mean by a "3 month visa to visit"?
Did the immigration officer at a Canadian airport stamp her passport and allow her only 3 months to stay in Canada?
If so, you can apply for an extension at least 1 month before her stay ends. Check out

no she still in india but she got visa from feb04 to may04 2008, i guess its single entry so i guess she has to leave before may04 2008

Bobby, your understanding is incorrect. Here is what it means:
Her 3 months visa means she has a 3 months window to enter Canada. Her period of stay is authorized by the immigration officer at the cdn port of entry - which is usually 6 months. This is done by stamping her passport with the expiry date (which is usually 6 months from the date of entry into Canada). If nothing is stamped, it is assumed that it is 6 months.
Having said this, if she intends to stay in Canada even after 6 months (assuming she is given 6 months stamp at the time of her entry), she needs to apply for the extension after 5 months of her stay.
