Hello everyone,
I am in canada since Feb 2007.I planned to invite my parents.Can anyone tell me what is the bank balance for the inviter?.
I dont think there is a fixed amount. It depends on various other factors such as ur income. I know of one example where a family shoed $20000 in the account but was denied visa for their mother. Reason, no sufficient income.
So if u have reasonable income, then show something like $4000 or above in ur account and u would be safe.
BUT VISITOR VISA IS LIKE A LOTTERY, YOU MUST BE ABLE TO CONVINCE THE VISA OFFICER THAT UR PARENTS WILL GO BACK, ie, they have sufficient ties back home. If u are the only child, then its not going to be a cakewalk.

WARRIOR IS wrong. As someone who has been that road atleast thrice, let me assure you that getting a visitor visa is NOT like getting a visa, That would sound like someone who is not well informed.
Specifically the reply would be: The amount that you need should be atleast 9 to 12 K - for that is the amount that you might have to spend in case of an emergency involving the visitor. That also shows that the person who sponsors the visitor, has the savings habit, the capacity and the "character" the visa officer looks for.
I have heard it time and again that getting a visit visa is a piece of luck. NO IT ISN'T! The success or otherwise of a visit visa depends on the right documentation that would prove that the visitor will go back.
I have used the services of a very professional immigration consultant. She charges $ 400 to $ 500 as her fee (and her services are really good). The first consultation is free.

How am I wrong?? I know at least more than 10 people who recently tried for Visitor's visa for their parents/in-laws.
Pls tell me where am i wrong in these following aspects
1. There is no fixed amount. One of my friends showed only $2000 and he got Visitor's visa for his mother in law. Another friend's application was rejected even tho he showed $20,000. Reason: Not having sufficient income. So ur income plays a real role, not the amount in bank, as the Visa officers know anyone can show bank balance. And no, ur bank balance will not show ur savings habit, character or for that matter anything. It just shows the balance. How I wish, if it could be produced as proof of my character...
2. Another friend, who is the only son, tried 5 times to get Visitor's Visa for his parents. He was successfull in his 6th attempt. If they had a valid reason to reject his application 5 times, then what happened to that same reason on the 6th time. Nothing changed in between.
3. A professional consultant will have a higher chance of getting ur application successfull. But what has that to do with the "mangai"s" question or even to my reply?? It is common knowledge, but everyone may not have that much money to waste for something that can be done by yourself.
I find it amusing that u claim i'm wrong, but u urself spent $500 three times (as per ur post) to do it. I can understand paying once, but 3 times????
BTW, anybody who applies for a Visitors visa will have to prove beyond doubt (at least to the visa officer) that they will return back after their period ends. Its here that getting Visitors Visa is like a Lottery...
PS: I didn't check ur join date, but seems like u joined just to post this, which makes me wonder..who that professional consultant is?????
How come I have never had to sponson any of my relations and none have ever been denied a visit visa??? Not even for the ones who had never been to North America.
