Well, I worked with an international airline and looked into seating. The way seats are allocated are first to frequent flyers as per their seat preferences.. FF also have categories.. premium , gold, silver, blue card holders etc.. .. also passengers having tight onward connx were seated in front row seats to enable them to move out faster ..similarly its not those who pay less that are given seats behind, but people travelling in big groups of 10 and more..so what the Amex agent mentioned, doesnt make too much sense .....
Thats why i told lana2005 to fire her agent. i worked for an airline as well and all seats in economy are the same whether u pay 100 bucks or 1000 bucks. if u buy in advance u wil get a ticket to india for lets say 1000. as the day approaches closer and flight gets full the price rises.
or the crew.I am not talking of international flights. I am talking of flights in the Americas that includes Canada, US and Mexico.
Superelites are almost always given business class seats no matter how much they pay.

This is wrong info lana, if I look like a queen doesn't mean I'll get a business class seat (even in domestic flights) on economy price. One has to pay for business...one can get a upgrade too and sometimes if economy is full and business free they ask 1-2 passengers to move to business...but not on any one looks or elite status.
Listen, I really donot want to get into arguments. But, yes superelites go into business class even when they pay the lowest fare. Me and my colleague used to travel to Latin America. He was superelite then. We would always compare the tkt prices we paid as we did not want surprises and questioning from project managers if the airfare difference between our fares is too high from the same destination. He would sometimes pay as little as $ 500 for a 51/2 hour flight and still be in business class.
Quote:Yes, I have verified that always.

And for all who have booked your seats on the web, have you ever checked if the seat was the same as you booked online?
