TSX breaks another record yesterday to close above 14,100. Brent crude cracks $70!

CAD climbs even higher. Talks of interest rate increase again clog the newswires!

Some people jokingly say that the investment loan rate sale going on now is responsible for the TSX going up.

China's attempt to cool stock market fever by raising interest rates and tightening credit appeared to have little impact on local investors' insatiable appetite Monday, with both mainland markets hitting new records.

Of late financial pundits instead of keeping track of the 500 point levels are logging records at every 100 point level for China.

HONG KONG

Most Asian markets advanced Tuesday as Chinese investors lifted stocks to new records, shrugging off authorities' efforts to cool market.

Stocks in South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines also rose to new highs.

The Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.9 percent to 4,110.38, breaking above 4,100 for the first time. The Shenzhen Composite Index climbed 1.4 percent to 1,198.41, also a record high.
