Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....
"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"

It's all the run up to great listing of DLF tomorrow.
Chinese stocks tumbled Thursday on waning confidence in the bull market amid worries about government steps to cool the market and that a slew of new share listings might drive prices lower.
Analysts said the lack of apparent support from state-controlled institutional investors for blue chip shares, often viewed as an indication for government policy intentions, was undermining confidence.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 5.3 percent to 3,615.87. The Shenzhen Composite Index of China's smaller, second market plunged 5.8 percent to 1,015.85.

Surprisingly HK up. Since a few days it has been over 22000. Nikkei up slightly.
Europe down. Amazingly FTSE (England) has weathered the bomb scares quite well.Though down today it is up since the weekend bomb scare.
How come there has been no thread on discussing that? Doctors who studied in India were also involved.
Brent crude at $76 and West Texas at $71.
BSE slightly down. Looks like DLF was a squib. Maybe already factored in beforehand.

Shares of Gurgaon-based property developer, DLF Ltd will list on the bourses Thursday. But the market has mixed views about it.
Some traders feel the share will not rise much because retail investors had not oversubscribed their quota of shares.
Others expect the share to list at Rs 555, a premium of Rs 30 rupees to the IPO price. They see the share rising on demand from investors who missed out on the country's biggest initial stock sale.
If it lists at a 10% premium, DLF will have a market capitalisation of Rs 99,000 crore.
