Good Apartments Kitchener

All,

I will be soon (next week) moving to Kitchener from PA, USA. Can any of you kindly suggest some good apartment communities in Kitchener - Cambridge area? I am trying to spend $800 for a 2 bedroom and I ahev seen several of those on newspapers but want to know which gives best value for the dollar bast on your experiences. Also place with a few indian communities.

Any other advice on the move kindly advice

There are lot of good apartments in Kitchener-Waterloo area. You may be knowing that K-W is a twin cities and you can rent 2 bedroom apartments in the range of $ 700-1000. You just have to see several apartments and then narrow it down. Good luck.

Thanks for quick response. I will be looking towards Cambridge or atleast closer to Toyota facility (King street ). Also we do not want or like HIGH buildings so that reduces our options a lot too..
Yes I will spend time visiting them beofre making decisions..

Hi Guys,
Any suggestion on areas I should avoid when looking for house in Kitchener. We are planning to move to Kitchener this summer. Prefer closer to downtown. Multistory is also ok. However, do not want to buy in troubled areas and schools. Please suggest if Charles street, church street area and schools around there is good.

I would not be close to down town as it is generally not a good area during the night time (I have seen shady characters only in the downtown core). Besides that area does not look that it has got much residential units.
However, you can buy / rent apartment / houses just outside this down town core (it is a very small core anyway).
RE prices as well as rent prices are very low if you compare it with the GTA. Houses are just between 200K to 250 K (which would be $ 400K in Mississauga).
I have seen some high rise apts. at the fringe of the downtown core with one advertising the rate to be just 99K but these are all old buildings (min 20-30 year old ones).
