To Regretably Canadian, here are my responses
1) I am not weird. I believe (like many of my fellow desis on this forum) that if one does not like this country, it;s sytem or the culture here, he/she should pack and go back to India. I am glad to hear that "regretaably Canadian" plans to do just that.
2)I would like to enlighten regretably canadian that I feel no less superior than a "white Canadian" and I have been treated fairly in the many years I have lived here.
3) I do not do labor jobs, I have more than one business that I own and operate successfully (and yes I do not work for an MLM company or a pyramid scheme). I am perservering, focussed, and a diehard optimist.
I DO NOT WORRY ABOUT BEING LAID OFF (like "regretably Canadian said). In all my years here, even during the "not so rosy days", I have never ever posted one message cribbing, complaining or griping about this country. Canada is a great country ( I said that even during those "not so rosy days" too).
Like one of my fellow desis wrote, there are 5,00,000 applicants waiting to come here. Does that mean that they don't know the situation here? The issues and problems pale in comparison to those in India. There is no point in staying here and cribbing - yes you do have a right ((it's a free world), but what do you achieve apart from spreading pessimism and negativity?
4) I do not belong to that category of people who had " low profile dead end jobs in India having no prospects of getting rich". I have a masters in business, and worked for Top Three English dailies in India as a Sales Manager.
5) No one denies the fact that India has made great strides. We also have higher crime numbers. Poverty, dirt and squalor are common too. One can't get anything done without greasing anyone's palm.
6) Canada did not make tall claims like this guy says. Did the Visa officer assure him that:
a) He would get ajob in his field?
b) His credentials would be equivalent to those here from Day 1?
A diehard optimist sees an opportunity in every step of his life. Well about those who don't belong to this category......... I'll leave it to your imagination.
Now this THIRU is really a weird Guy! He is accusing me of having pea sized brain! How does he know that? Any way it is always better to have pea sized brain than not having any brain which seems to be the case with THIRU (based on his acidic reaction to my posting) Well this “No Brain” THIRU jumps to conclusion as to my being pessimist based on my id! Well you guys can guess why I call him “No Brain” THIRU. Suppose had I kept my id as “successful Canadian” or say “Proud Canadian” then probably he would have thought of me as belonging to his category which I call “labor” category. These “labor” category people are those who were having low profile dead end jobs in India having no prospects of getting rich and they are the guys who multiply their miniscule savings by 35 and feel satisfied working under some 12th grade drop out! They do not want to help other Desi, suck up to their boss, do not want to acknowledge the great strides India has made since they left India. He is advising me to pack up and go back to India which I eventually do plan (I have my own commitments here) and again would get executive job back in India. However, India needs to be cleansed of these kinds of people and what better dumping ground can one find other than this great country called “Canada”. We all know that whatever love, affection and loyalty this “No Brain” THIRU profess, he will be never accepted as equal to Caucasian Canadian.
As to my id “regrettably Canadian” , I do acknowledge that I have my own regrets for coming to Canada but that has nothing to do with my not being successful. Probably I am one of the lucky few who have reasonably good job and earning. My regret is that I acme to a country which is no better (if not worse) than India. We all know India has lots of problem but at least we were aware of those problems and everybody knew that. Canada made tall claims and lo and behold! You land and next day learn that your qualifications, education and experience has no value! What a shock! These were the attributes based on which I was granted immigration! Well “No Brain” THIRU and his likes can and will brand me as pessimistic but I believe I am realist. “No Brain” THIRU would realize this (hope he does not have to face that) when he is laid off and has to seek a new job.

I think Thiru was right about the "Pea-sized brain" comment. Or may be not. You say in another post you've been here for 5 years!! Anyone with a pea sized brain would've realized that its time to stop "regretting" and doing something about the regret. What're you still doing here? Why in the whole world would you build "commitments" to a place you dislike so much?? And not resolve them for 5 years?

What do you know about my “commitments”? Why you assume too much and try to prove me as a person with pea sized brain? Like I stated in another of my post, it is better to have pea-sized brain than not to have any brain. By the way with this pea-sized brain, I have acquired three highly acclaimed professional designations in Canada in 5 years. Now just answer this question: if 3 professional designations require pea-sized brain, what will be the size of brain of person with lesser number of professional designations? (This is the case with almost all of your white master and probably with you and THIRU NO BRAIN)
You will probably not be able to derive answer and hence let me provide it to you. Answer is size approaching Zero.
As to my commitments, I have my kids going to most prestigious University in engineering program. What I realized after landing in Canada and enrolling them in school that the standard of studies in Canada is much lower than in India. If I go back, they would never be able to compete and secure admission in I.I.T so I have to wait. I did not build “commitment”. You guys sound like some Nazi who always asked Jews to leave Germany. When you find injustice is being done, you fight if possible or keep mum. When a person like PURU raises the subject, you guys jump on him and ask people like me to leave Canada! You imply that having come to Canada, one is not supposed to have any complaints or else one is supposed to go back rather than fight. You guys are bunch of losers and by posting so many replies are eroding moral of person like PURU.
As to 1-35 mentality again you are trying to read beyond my message. Sure there are immigrants who are extremely successful in Canada and probably you may be one of them but that is no reason to run down PURU. The fact remains that majority of labor mentality people are hostile to any idea of resistance. As to painting black and white , anybody who has read the post knows how you poor losers jumped on me the moment you saw my id “regratably Canadian” That is called painting in black and white. Without knowing the true reasons, you start hurling all sort of abuses to me by calling me pea sized brain! Shame on you guys.

I don't have to prove anything, you're doing a great job of it yourself! And about assumptions, most responders to this thread have pointed out to YOU that YOU'RE making false assumptions on their behalf. But the blinders on your eyes won't let you read. Either that or you're just too stupid to figure it out.

And why bring your kids into this? They're going to a "prestigious" university? How can Canada have a "prestigious" university (according to your logic)? And did it take 5 years for you to figure out that the standard of education is lower than India (which again is a false assumption)? Why didn't you go back right away? If you hate it so much, you would've found a way to go back.

I am to being sure there to be many peoples on this forum running into peoples daily that being professional and ekdum mast angrezi thoking, but ekdum naseeb mein not being to find job in their field. Also there be many such reports in media.
If you are to be looking for people to join in crusade to muster strength and force for legal redressal of their grievances, I am lauding you for your efforts. Please not to be giving up. Try and to be trying again and thy shall succeed. To be remembering story of spider trying to climb up wall and then get all grit together and make like Spiderman and becoming kaamyaab.
I am truly to be wishing you ALL THE BEST IN YOUR ENDEAVOUR, as there are plenty many such peoples who will wish to join you and I am hoping you to get such a group together and socking it to Can gorement.
Not everybody can to be coming to Can, being like one global moderator, whose English ekdum mast and being pro in S'pore with plenty many degrees and coming here and doing labour jobs and shelling out $2500 from savings just to be in Can now maybe 4 years?And top of that doing nek kaam of teaching people forex for free. Perplexing aadmi hai. Hoping all his good deeds coming around and doing good for him.
Many plenty people not getting jobs and not to be from lack of trying. Ekdum trying and not achieving. Lakin kya karing? Ekdum bitter, but they plugging along, why for I am thinking sometimes, because they are chara and can to move anywhere.
Many peoples feeling they have been cheated and I am thinking they should be having method of doing legal recourse. If enough peoples' trying, something will give. Ekdum top lawyers ko engage karo wo bhi States se aur press ko bhi engage karo
