May be they could be handed over to the malis, ayahs, house servants, car driver and others who worked their behinds off for the family and stayed back in India.

They should also be back taxed from the date of immigration.

You are mixing up two scenarios. In first scenario, an Indian resident has worked hard in India, earned money, paid taxes and created wealth after paying all due taxes and fees to the authorities. That wealth belongs to him.

In second scenario, an immigrant who came to Canada in search of easy money, thinking he can pick dollars from the trees, doesn’t want to work/upgrade his skills, jumped over the welfare system of the country. Even he is a healthy person and can work, uses the food bank and took welfare money, which I believe for a healthy person is similar to begging. After 4-5 years after obtaining citizenship, that guy decided to move back to home country. If something happens to his home state, he will take out his Canadian passport and reach out the Canadian Embassy to get help to be rescued back to Canada at Canadian tax payer’s money. This is what happened in middle-east crisis, a few years back when Canadian govt. has to rescue thousands of such Canadian citizens (It is ridiculous that most of them moved back within a year’s time to their back home). The same person still has an eye on Canadian Old Age pension, for which he hardly contributed anything. This is a degradation of morality for some and right for others.

Do you still think both scenarios are same or similar?

I am sorry to know that you had been chased out of Canada by Canadians and CD’s. I was under misconception that you have decided to leave this so called ‘Cursed Canada’ at your free will.

You are highlighting which senario is better for you. You are not thinking about what is fair / honest and not.

Canadian govt is already pushing back the parent sponsorship category.. going by todays wait times it will take 10 years for anyone to sponsor his or her parents..

Raising the age limit is not the solution for this.. best option would have been to close the loop hole for people who have not contributed from OAS and health care system.

Due to the ageing population By the time most of us retire probably cpp and OAS eligibility dates would get pushed out even more..

The right thing for people to do is to save for retirement through RRSP ..

You must have lived in Canada for at least 10 years after turning 18."

I think you missed something major to extract from that website. For last 20 years one should stay for 10 years and in last 5 years one should stay for 3 years.
This criteria can affect many for the eligibility for OAS

This is what shows up as eligibility criteria per Service Canada:

The last statement might be of interest for those who might wish to collect OAS from outside of Canada.

----------------------------------

Eligibility conditions: To qualify for an Old Age Security pension, a person must be 65 years of age or over, and
1.
must be a Canadian citizen or a legal resident of Canada on the day preceding the application's approval; or

2.
if no longer living in Canada, must have been a Canadian citizen or a legal resident of Canada on the day preceding the day he or she stopped living in Canada.

A minimum of 10 years of residence in Canada after reaching age 18 is required to receive a pension in Canada.

A minimum of 20 years of residence in Canada after reaching age 18 is required to receive a pension outside of Canada.
