This is the link to an article which appears in today's Toronto Start about immigrants - foreign trained professionals. An interesting article, specially for those always wanting hard core statistics from credible sources - some food for thought for them because this article in essence is full of generalisations, and therefor no hard statistics, just seems to be from a credible source (Toronto Star Newspapers - which again is not as mighty as UN, or the Canadian immigration authorities and so perhaps could be termed as non credible source).

Some of the outstanding remarks in this article:

So when you find yourself at the opposite end, there's a lot of shame and embarrassment. They're basically living in a dead-end existence as far as their professional lives are concerned.

or

In recent years, the paradox of foreign-trained doctors, engineers, PhDs and other professionals driving taxis and doing other low-level jobs has been so common in Toronto that it's almost a cliché.

(Manasvi could be challanged on his statement by Crenshaw a few months ago regarding his observation in one week - but don't know why others, including this article signifies similar state of affair!!!)

or

About 20 per cent of Chinese immigrants who came to Canada in the past 15 years have left — for Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taiwan and the U.S. — and most appear to be doing better economically there, said DeVoretz. 'If we don't match jobs to people when they come here, the immigrants will fix it themselves by leaving or not showing up.'

Well, as I wrote earlier - just food for thought. No allegations, no opinions, no statements/generalisations.

What I find interesting is that there seems to be a shortage in many of the professions that immigrants can fill up. At least thats what the claims are.

Is there really a shortage?

I doubt it.

I think its time to cut down on skilled immigration

There are many other ways to get people in legally to do unskilled jobs that skilled people end up doing.

It reveals more than what it hides

Whores are not that bad

They take your money and tell you they'll screw you(and most often do).
