Don't expect Desis or anyone else to do anything for you over here. You are on your own over here. The first year will be a HUGE massive cultural shock for you, after which things will settle down. So be practical and expect nothing from anyone. You will make lot of mistakes in the first year and will learn through trial and error. If you can survive in Mumbai, you can easily survive over here in GTA.

The following sites will help you find an apartment, NO one else will. ( See links at the end )

Finding a place to live over here is NOT any different than finding an apartment in Mumbai. Just as NO one cares ( including you ), when a stranger or outsider moves to Mumbai looking for a place to live, NO one is going to care or help you, when you come here.

You are on your own. I, Me , Myself that's what todays world is :). Once you settle down over here, you are also NOT going to care about any new comer, who comes to Canada. You will also disappear from Canadian Desi, once you settle down, and WON'T bother to help any new comers after your initial settlement.

All this might sound harsh, but this is the cold hard truth just like the weather in Canada in Winter :)

You can also search for mostly basement apartments on KIJIJI.ca & CRAIGSLIST.ca . Kijiji is more popular in Canada. But beware there are some rental scams also out there on KIJIJI etc , where people take your money & run .

Is it only me who is unable to understand the facts of internet, or am I reading too much between the lines?

According to my computer, I see Adamthorat post on 28 Aug at 01.00.40
Later edited by someone – but with no name
Next post by same person is at 01.10.32
TKs response is at 01.11.40 (looks like 1 minute and 8 seconds later – took to me longer to read Adam’s post, leavet alone respond to it)
TK’s next post at 01.14.20 – less than 3 minutes later
Payal 05 writing at 01.16.27 – just about two minutes later
Adamthorat’s response to payal05’s post is at 01.16.30 – just three second later – three seconds……..and for me to type that long would take at least 3-4 minutes

At the end of the post is a GLITCH in the system ! It appears at the end of some of your posts, even if you DON'T edit anything. It just appears automatically and without any reason, after you make a post, even if you DON'T edit anything and just make a post. You will see at the End of lot of posts, by different people.

The mystery is why it only appears sometime, but NOT all the time !

Chandreshji, if you look at the posts, some are generic and not responding to exactly previous post (could be one or two posts before, they do not have quoted text). It sometimes happens if I am replying to a thread and somebody else is also responding to the same and when we post it will appear that two posts were posted within 1 or 2 seconds of each other but I would not have read the previous post posted 2 seconds before me (actually would have responded to one post before that).

Last edited by without a name is a mystery that needs to be solved. Last edited by without a name means it was not edited by a moderator (sometimes even the OP did not edit that post).

Raj,

I can understand your explanation - but I have picked only those posts which related - like TKs response at 01.11.40 is to the post by adam at 01.10.32, and Adam's response at 01.16.30 is directly to Payal's post at 01.16.27 (three seconds ago)
