Single entry. The multiple entry visa is called 'Long Term Visa'

I'm about to apply for an Indian visafor the first time. CGI Toronto website states a prepaid return envelope needs to be enclosed with the application to return the Canadian passport (I'm assuming they will also return the cancelled Indian passport).
My question is what sort of prepaid return envelope can we enclose - does it have to be Canada Post standard mail or is Express post allowed? Are prepaid courier envelopes (e.g. Fedex or Purolator) allowed? If so, does CGI Toronto then call the courier firms for a pickup? If it is only ordinary post, then there is a risk of mail getting lost. If anyone can share their experience(s) that will be greatly appreciated. What's the best approach - any suggestions? Thanks

Hi SS,

The visitor visa which costs $62 is valid for 6 months only but can be used either for single or multiple entry.

If some one wants it for multiple entry, they just have to mention this in the Visa application form in the column where it asks for the number of entries.

I hope it clarifies.

Any type of prepaid service can be used. However, it is preferred if you use Canada Post regular or express post service. Last month my brother applied for the visa and he sent the passport and application with ordinary post and also enclosed self addressed prepaid ordinary post envelop.

Please make sure to send your Indian Passport along with the Canadian Passport since you are applying Visa for the the first time.

Good Luck.

It is better to ask these questions to Indian High Commission in Toronto (Tel.No. 416 062 3787) and get correct answer

Very rarely you get through the number of Consulate General in Toronto. However, the number you have given does not seem to be correct.

Mr. India, you should use something with tracking number like Canada post registered post or Xpresspost.

It is not worth the risk of sending/receiving passports by ordinary post.
