Dear friends,
After arriving at Pearson International Airport, which is the best taxi/ limo service that can take me, my family and my quite heavy luggage ( 7 pieces @ 23 kg each plus couple of hand carries) to my place in Mississauga. Is there any way I can make the booking before arrival. I sometime fear even a van won't be able to accommodate us alongwith our luggage, what if such a scenario arises! How much should be the approx fare. Should I go by meter or there are flat rates for respective areas. If booked now, do they come to the luggage belt to help us carry the luggage upto the car / van. Please suggest
To carry the luggage from belt to outside departure area, you can take trolley. You may need 1 or 2 dollar coins to take the trolley. You may find some porter over there in front of trolley station to exchange the currency notes with coin so don’t worry about it. Last week, the trolleys were free as they were sponsored by CIBC bank. Alternatively, you can find porters who can carry your luggage for a fee – I think they change around $ 20 – please confirm before taking their services.
From airport, only Airport limousine can pick the passengers and you will find them waiting for their turn in hundreds so don’t worry about the availability. They also have Vans for passengers like you. The Van can carry 7 bags. Prior to those Vans, passengers have to take more than one car to carry the luggage. They had fixed fare according to the destination – to my best guess, it should be around 70 bucks from Airport to central place in Mississauga.

A Delhite in Toronto
Thanks Delhite, quite informative, so I don't need to arrange anything in advance. Actually I did have a good experience of hiring cabs upon arrival so far, talking about Riyadh, Kualalumpur and Lahore, believe me it's a big hassle specially when you are with a family and lots of luggage. I think we can't approach to cabs directly but will have to pay at specified counters first and then wait for the turn outside near the cab que. Would it be a good idea to take two vans if my luggage doesn't fit in one, won't it be risky moving this way !
Though many people do what delhite suggests , but i have observed they wait bit longer for the suitable van to arrive.
I suggest you book in advance. (you still pay in taxi) and go to the designated area, taking your trolly and wait. The taxi service will guide you how to connect with them.
I use Aeroport taxi service all the time for my travel. There is no extra charge for pre booking.
Quote:thanks San, I also feel that having a prior booking can be always good, you stay much relaxed during your travel and don't have to rush after arriving to get a front place in the que. But I don't see any booking option on the pearson's web site. Looks like I will have to make it by phone !

FH, thanks a lot for all the detailed info, as ever you have again loaded me with plenty of options to work around with, that's great. But I guess none of them is an Air Port Service, they all sound private. I have read somewhere that private cabs are not allowed to pick passengers from the air port, though they are free to drop offcourse. For going out of air port to your destination, you ought to avail transport being operated under air port ground transport services, I think there are few working with different names. Please correct me if I said something wrong. Thanks
