PR obligations clearly state that you need to be in Canada for 2 years out of 5 ~ When you stayed away from Canada for 'personal reasons ' you were well aware of the rule and the implications and you took a decision .

Canada is built on rules and integrity which living here would make your realize .Please abstain from finding loop holes and work arounds and write to the CHC and accept refusal if they say so .

I know you will not follow this advice and try some other means - sorry for being harsh but please be prepared to face consequences if you are caught .

I have known dozens who had to make similar choice but made so before the stipulated time despite personal circumstances and upholding/ respecting the rules of a country for which you will owe your allegiance to.

Fido,

What should I write to CHC about my situation ? should I write to them clearly about my absences and serious intentions to enter Canada for the good finally?

How much time would they take to reply ? moreover I believe they would not send (correspondence) outside Canada. So what is the best and quick method to send and get a reply from CHC.

Any useful comments would be highly appreciated.

Hi ,

Yesterday I came across a case where a PR went back to his home country after landing and to prove his continued residence , leased an apartment alongwith phone & electricity for 3 years @ CAD 1000/- pm .

His citizenship application got rejected as Authorities found out and needless to mention I doubt if he will be allowed to re apply again ever .

Avoid yourself from similar circumstances by being honest to the CHC and correspond by registered post / fax / email (all 3) ~ worst case they will refuse but you can always re apply for PR - its just a 2 years wait .

Thanks Fido.
But what do you mean by you can always re apply for PR - its just a 2 years wait ? Do you mean just 2 years is the time for (fresh)New Immigration Process cycle ?Kindly clarify that ..

More over by CHC you mean Canadian High Commission ?

As fido mentioned Canada has rules and regulations just like the middle east. gulfees apply for PR and wait till they get it so they can settle their kids here to get a good education and then return to the gulf to avail the tax free system. in actual gulfees real intention is not settle here. We canadians are paying tax for you to come use the facilities and return. It is time that this practice is stopped. Your personal reasons cannot justify you trying despaerately to beat the system. Canada does not need people like you. We have lot of them like already screwing the system

Hi Fido

Thank you for your replies.

Hope new immigrants read these posts and understand the need for following rules and regulations and not look for loopholes and work arounds.

Thanks once again.

Sorry to mention that - you have misinterpreted what I meant to ask in the forum.
FYI and for people like you : Till now I have never used any facility nor taken any benefits from 'your country'.On the contrary when even I visited I paid on account of travel, food and lodging to 'that country'.Morover my intention is sincere to stay full 2- 3 years (minimum) .I delayed my residency in 'your country' because I am a father of daughters and they were in an age which was challenging for us in their bringing up.We tried exploring but felt that it was not good in the long run at this time.So the only way was (1)to either delay ..and delay... till we are cornered down (and children become little more mature) or (2) just giveup and perhaps re-apply (if circumstances were conducive) or(3) just say a bye to 'your country' which was the easiest to do.

I hope Fido would kindly reply to my previous post.
