I would really appreciate if somebody out there could help me. I have been in the US for 6 years now on an H-4 with my husband. Green card has been applied for three years now but even the labor is not cleared yet. Throughout these years I was very unhappy since I couldn't work. Now we have finally decided to move to Canada. I am very worried and concerned. My husband has gotten a good job there but I keep worrying thinking what if this is not the right decision. I read about people not finding jobs and the struggle they have to go through. I am a dentist. Could anybody suggest me how I should approach job hunting in Canada and whether I have any chance. I have already send my resume to several places but haven't heard from anybody. The option of going back to dental school to get my license in Canada isn't there for me since I am tired of studying now and the place I am moving to doesn't have a dental school.

I am confused. Your husband has got a good job here? And you are worried whether it is the right decision?
First off, going from what you write, it does not appear that you have any choice but to leave the US. Under the circumstances, you have chosen to come to Canada. Do you have any other better options that cause you to worry about your decision?

I am afraid the option you say is not there for you, is the only option you have. You cannot practice your profession here without certification in this country. Maybe your town may not have a dental school but there could be one within commuting distance.

If you dont want to put in the time and effort to be a qualified dentist maybe you should lower expectations and see if you will qualify to be licensed as a dental hygenist/assistant.
You were unhappy in USA so what are you worried about anyway ?

Don't give biassed replies based on your personal experience in US for those who are aspiring to come to Canada. Experiences vary from person to person.
