If an IT guy is good, he/she will do very well in India where there is more action whereas jobs from USA/UK/Canada are moving to India or other countries where cost is less. Jobs in these countries are not secure whereas in India they can call the shots. Forget Infy, TCS, Wipro, and Satyam. Jobs are plenty in IBM, Accenture, Cognizant, etc.
Chandresh,
Read that article. Feels good. At the same time wondering what the hell I am doing in Ottawa with the federal govt. Its not only the salary that they get, its the perks too that add up. And they do get big time perks (free petrol, club membrship, house rent, etc). If teh house rent which is a major chunk is paid by the employer, then rest of teh salary is the pocket money (almost).
(a friend of mine is a manager in wipro and his 3 br apt rent is paid by them)

Smart guy. That's the way to go. Make good money in ME and settle down in India. IMO, u cant beat that.
There are number of MNCs such as Ernst & Young that are doing finance, accounting work in India. Opportunities for CAs are great. And the BPO firms.
I know this 40 something CA who was in Canada for a couple of years and is now working as a Senior Manager with PWC in Mumbai. So you can repeat that from Canada / ME / US anywhere . India is open and welcomes overseas experience .
I have a Consultant working in India visitng us these days. At Gurgaon he s earning 8.25 lacs and yet he was asking for a quick opening here !! What to say ?? But he felt contended when I informed him of the cost of living.
At times I wonder is India really better as of now if one can have a salary of INR 8-9 lacs pa (plus your own country & culture ) versus the CAD 60 - 70 K (plus the infrastructure and support system ) here . I guess I will have to experience that and find out myself . No easy way other than that !!

Fido.
60 to 70 Thousand CAD$ is not good income according to me. anything from 100,000$ above can be called as comfortable income according to me.
Any comments on this ?

You know you are a desi when ........ You spew forth the virtues of India, but don't want to live there...............You've never had a tanning salon membership
Depends on the lifestyle. If u want a 4 BR brand new house, a brand new SUV, buy designer clothes, then 60 to 70 k CAD$ may not be enough. After all, for lots of desis its a status symbol.
4 BR brand new house, a brand new SUV, designer clothes is a status sybol for most people . Desi's or not ...
