I have applied in Dec'2003, got file number in Feb'2004, attended interview in Abudhabi in Oct'05.
Update your application with IELTS score. which will help in speedy process.

Hi,

I had applied in Dec 03 and got my file number in Feb 04. I recd my medical papers and gave the medical exams in August 05. Since then it has been in process. i have already arrived in toronto on a work permit.

i think it usually takes upto 2 yrs for any reply / correspondence to come. UAE is pretty fast but i believe there is a heap of applications waiting to be processed at london and so the queue is long.

i also think that qualification might make a difference as they would consider the job market and opportunities here.

hopefully you have given a complete application and sent ALL the reqd papers in the beginning. if you keep sending papers later on it becomes slow.

i now have another problem.... ie changin the mailing address from UAE to Toronto, i dont know if can be done. i tried to do it from the cic website but they havent updated the records yet. my guess is that the queue is very long.

Hi,

For me it took 2 years to get the visa stamped, and another one month to get PR card after arrival in canada.

I am working in Dubai. I am basically a chartered accountant and currently working here as compliance officer.

I have recd my file # within 15days and also submitted my IELTS.

I am here in Sharjah for last 1.5 years.

May be v can talk about it in detail.

My consultant told me it normally takes 12 - 18 months to get visa processed, lets keep fingers crossed

I am here in Sharjah for last 1.5 years.
