i think now a days they are strictly looking at your IELTS score, based on that they are finalising interview tobe taken or not...

I am working in Sharjah. I am basically a chartered accountant and currently working here as SAP FI/CO consultant.
I have not given IELTS test and If required so I would do that and I claimed it to be waived. Wait and see.
I enlosed all attested certificates as well proof of funds except as said above IELTS.
I am here in Sharjah for last 6 years. I am expecting 11/2 year to 2years for this whole process.

I am working in abudhabi . I am basically in CAD/GIS field working as CADD support engineer in a consulting compeny.
I applied through a consultant in Sharjah last year Oct-2003
got the File number in Jan-2004, after that i sent my IELTS test results and financial statement in May -2004. After that there was no responce from CHC london, waiting for the responce. As my consultant says now in december they are processing the cases of 2003 - oct/nov filenumber recived people. so in my case it will be end of Jan -2005 or Feb2005 .
I may hear some news. I am here in abudhabi for the last 8 years.

I live in Dubai for last 9 years and now I have applied for PR through CHC London. I did all the paper works by myself with the help of their official website without an agent. I applied in June and received AOR in July 2004. I haven’t taken IELTS exam as I thought I would be able to convince the visa officer about my ability to converse in English and in this affect I have submitted documentary proofs as well.
After coming across this web site (and others) and going through numerous churchas, I am now thinking of appearing for IELTS exam and sending the result to CHC as it may increase my chances of an interview waiver.
As per my own point calculations, I score 73 pints but I don’t know how the visa officer going to see my case and intercept the point calculation. If I appear for the test and score around 7 bands each in all four modules (Speak, listen, read & write), I am sure the visa officer will give me full 16 points for the English language. No room for gussing.
What do you guys say?

what you said is correct ,better to go for IELTS and submit your test result, so that you will be assured your points. i heard some times they dont trust your English language skill by writing a letter, they want IELTS.
