We have made slight changes in our plans and will now be landing in Toronto and later assessing the different provinces.

I tried various resources like classifieds and other settlement links herein and other places on the net, but could not manage to book any accomodation for us. We are a family with 2 small children, so would need to have basic furniture and cooking facilities. Some of the motels and guest houses have rates published in the range of 100 $ per night. Can anybody tell me if this is reasonable? Can anyone please help me giving me any more links, contacts of place which you think are reasonable both livingwise and pricewise?

Quite often we are getting such posts. Guys we are not just a discssusion board but a portal with lot more sections. One is Classified which is full of accomodation ads. Please use that one.

Good references of initial accommodation are very necessary. Ads will be in plenty on various forums. What Canadiandesi achieves to be the best of various portals available to newcomers to Canada is its display of personalized, unique Indian warmth!

It is indeed disheartening to see moderators sometime tend to become intrusive on posts such as Ivan's. An individual who is migrating with his family naturally looks up to people already settled for information and guidance. He is touchy about his immediate basic requirements while he settles. Anyone visiting this site obviously notices big classified section and titles of ads. There is no need to further direct him / her on this.

For whatever reasons that moderator must have come across in the management of this site / posts etc., being rude and directive do not justify. In my opinion, all of us should try and keep the Indian warmth live.

Please forgive me if I am wrong. There is no intention to belittle the great cause, efforts and vision of this site-founders and moderators. My salute to them.
