HI Chadresh
"Again I could write a lot of other things about the system here -"
Kindly put ur valuable ideas here regarding the ed.system in Canada, when u find time as they will b of great help for aspiring immi.
Mr Badshah,
Here is a direct quote from a student from India in the student's own words reproduced from a reputable mainstream paper.
“Then I went to school. Everything was so clean. The corridors and classes are so wide and un-crowded. I got a locker to myself, something unheard of in India. The teachers were so friendly and approachable, not like the strict unsmiling faces of the teachers in India. The classes in India have 60 students; here there are only 20-25 pupils to a class so each student gets more individual attention. No uniforms to wear here and boys and girls go to the same class, unlike India. There is a proper lunch room here with benches and tables. In India we had to sit out on the sand and eat our food-yuk!”
“There is only one thing bad about the schools here. The education I feel is lower than in India. Whatever we did in the sixth grade, I had covered in the fifth in India. Also some of the concepts covered in the seventh grade here, I had done in the fifth in India. In the CTBS I was given levels 8-13, much higher than others in my class. Every term since coming to Canada, I have achieved academic awards with honours and I don’t have to work hard at it. To get such an award in my school in India would require long hours of hard studying, and I know because I would get English proficiency awards every year in India”.
“All in all, I like Canada more than India, especially since there is not much homework here”.-this last with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
(CTBS= Canadian Test of basic skills)
No adults putting in their interpretation or their views straight from a student. I am sure there must be a contradictory view also from a student. It all depends on which angle you look at things.
I agree with the above.
Though I must say Chandresh has some insightful notions.
Anyway, you decide. The educational system in both countries stresses on different things. As far as hard skills are concerned, knowledge of math, world geography, world history, society etc a good school in India is better than the community school here. In terms of soft skills, like elocution, debate, confidence, it is better here in general. Being a product of Campion and my child of J.B Petit and my wife of Bombay International-these schools provide a better all round base in all skills than any, and I mean any, school in Toronto, and I have visited many in my profession

Get what you want by helping others get what they want
Lal Badshah saab
Here is your opening line
Is it really worth shifting children of class 4/5 from good dehli schools into canadian education system?Pls advise
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please elucidate what you mean by" good dehli school". What exactly is the type of education your children are getting and then perhaps we can give you comparisons to Can community schools, where most Canadian and immigrant children attend.
My vision of a good school in India is only limited to those in Mumbai and Pune and others' also will be limited to the area they grew up in and are assuming that 'twill be the same in Delhi. So perhaps a rundown from you will be helpful.
Thanks BKB

I fully agree with Chandresh's views and impeccable analysis of schooling in Canada. In my view the system over here prepares a pupil to be an independent thinking entity and not something hardwired to textbook knowledge. The teaching system in Canada, and for that matter in all the developed economies, emphasizes a holistic approach and aims to develop a well-rounded personality geared towards success in life.
Initial years in the primary school are totally devoted to developing motor, social and other so-called ‘soft’ skills. The 3-R skills are given importance only in high school. This segregation is based on solid research and the schooling is independent of any political interference.
Some of my desi friends have unqualified praise for the Indian schooling system and have indicated that some US high-tech companies and institutes are ‘controlled’ by Indians. Nothing can be farther from the truth. A single swallow does not make a summer.
India has the third largest scientific manpower. What are our original contributions to the advancement of science and technology? Negligibly small! Is it the result of excellent schooling we got? As they say proof of the pudding is in the eating.
Friends, think rationally not emotionally. Do not go by specifics go by generalities.

Here in India you have to pay heavy donations in medical school if you are not on merit. If you have links with staff you get in merit by tampering on mark sheets. There are many examples of fake marksheets.
Students are frustated when they do not get jobs of their caliber,
Ultimately money is everything I want to convey my brothers in Canada stay there You will be happier we can see that when u come to India . Try to immigrate more indians to canada that is what you have to do. so thay are more like humans...
Mayujilo, thanks for pointing out malice of donations.
In addition, the reservation system in education and jobs has really pushed the system to its nadir.
