Just curious to see if there were any other Brit desis on this board. How did you find the cultural transition from UK to Canada ?
I am in UK for the last 5 years, don't know if that makes me a UK desi.
Visited Canada last year for few days, found it very refreshing (atleast as a tourist, living might be different).
Experience from 15 days of visit.
In UK they say " You arite mate" in Canada experienced "Hey Hozzit Goin"
In UK it is "British Asian", in Canada only heard "immigrants"
In UK airport immigration desk asked if I live in Canada,
In Canada airport security personal asked if I have any "Hash" in my bag.
In UK need excuse to wear a suit, in Canada need an excuse not to wear it.
In UK people are small, in Canada found myself small and short.
Found Paan in UK , found Paan in Canada.
my two cents...
Hiya,
I am from London (UK) and now live in London (ON) Ironic huh?

What made you make the switch, if you don't mind me asking?
I was actually thinking of going the other way around. I have been in UK before... but that was LONG ago. I was but a child. (I've visited now n then though.)
