How was the program FH ...

ISIS / Boko Haram / Al Shabab / Al Qaeeda ...... If you observe their going over the past decade and a half , they go by the ruthless version of Islam which stresses on non tolerance for non Islamists.

Right from the petrol refinery hostage taking and killing in Nigeria to genocide of Yazidis to abducting of girls and mass killing in Nigeria to the recent shooting in the campus killing in Kenya , they have highlighted non tolerance & murder of non muslims.

In the words of the Al Shabab chief - he s carrying out the will of the Allah and will not surrender by being a mujahid - the only possibility is become a martyr and gain a privileged after life .

Most of the suicide bombers have been brain washed that they are carrying the will of the Allah and that they are entitled to a pleasurable after life .... With this kind of a belief there's no stopping them other than killing them .... They are no better than wild animals having lost all or any love for humanity.... imagine the drive behind the 2 terrorists in Canada ( one @ Parliament Hill and the other who ran down a soldier) ... they were not born into Islam but converted and how would their brains have been washed to carry out the ruthless & mindless actions against their own country men and country where they grew up and had all of their everything in.

In the words of the US General in Iraq - ' These are people who will kill or be killed . There is no third option'............ Shudder to think what would be the result in Iraq & Syria had the coalition not intervened and what would have been the future of Yazidis - ' Convert to Islam or perish ' .....

A lot of pity and prayers for the countless who have lost their lives because of this religious madness ....

I have been watching Fareed Zakaria's programs well over a decade now.

The problem with FZ is he treads very lightly around topics related to terrorism, Islam, ISIS etc.

He will never connect the dots if that leads to blaming Islam in any way. Rather he takes the path of "misguided individuals", "fundamentalists", "distorted version of Islam" etc.
I would say he propagates a gentle version of Taqqiya.

This show was supposed to have been aired at 21:00 hrs Eastern. So, I got the channel On and waited. All I saw was the Riots in Baltimore. So, fell asleep.

This morning I see the twitter report from Fareed.. :

Yes he only tweaks your curiosity. It is his interviewees that enlighten us. But I have a feeling that he knows a few of the answers well in advance, because his research team clues him with the details.

Well if the onlookers are unable to join the dots as the program chugs along, then they will have a deja vu moment at a later date. (Maybe they all are scared of getting sued by a few if they complete the dotting for a few.!!)

IS has claimed responsibility for the attack on an art centre exhibition of cartoons on Prophet.

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/middle-east/IS-claims-responsibility-for-Texas-cartoon-attack/articleshow/47162519.cms?

With more such attacks like in Paris and now Dallas, the world would now start realising that the so called "Core issue of Kashmir", which has killed millions, and condemned the sub-continent to abject poverty, is about religious fanaticism and has got nothing to do with the welfare of the Kashmiris.

Criticizing and opposing is one thing and going to an extreme of violence is another thing -- I guess there lies the difference between a civilized and uncivilized world ....

I was reading the account of one the woman who was rescued in Nigeria from Boko Haram that she was about to be married off to one of the commanders of IS , who had been instrumental in killing her husband and her family and why she was spared was because she was carrying and they d told her that she would be married off in a week after delivery.

These people need to be dealt with a strong hand ... Hats off to the people who are fighting ISIS including the Kurds and the coalition for if not then we would see more of the kinds of Boko Haram , Al Shabab outfits sprouting all over the world ....

They all seem to have a very clear deep rooted hatred for non Muslims and ready to kill without thinking in order to satisfy their religious beliefs ..... Time has come when people should not fear them or have any Islam o phobia and meet the challenge openly to make the world a better place to live in.

I admire Gen Sisi of Egypt who brought Egypt back with a strong hand from getting Islamized ... I recall his dialogue with Morsi - 'Either you will convert us or you will kill us '

Why do Islamists give only 2 choices - convert or be killed .... why does the religion not teach about co existence of other religion & beliefs also ? Why is there a concept of 'Kafir' or non believer ?

Don't they believe in 'Live & Let Live' for all ?

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL‎;), also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria or the Islamic State of Iraq and ash-Sham (ISIS ) or simply as theIslamic State, is an Islamic extremist terrorist organization controlling territory in Iraq and Syria, with limited territorial control in Libya and Nigeria. The group also operates or has affiliates in many parts of the world including Southeast Asia.

The group is known in Arabic as ad-Dawlah al-Islāmiyah fīl-ʿIrāq wash-Shām, leading to the acronym Da'ish, Da'eesh, or DAESH, Arabic pronunciation: The Arabic equivalent of "ISIL". On 29 June 2014, the group proclaimed itself to be a worldwide caliphate, with Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi being named its caliph, and renamed itself "Islamic State", ad-Dawlah al-Islāmiyah. The new name and the idea of a caliphate has been widely criticised and condemned, with the UN, various governments, and mainstream Muslim groups all refusing to acknowledge it. As caliphate, it claims religious, political and military authority over all Muslims world wide and that "the legality of all emirates, groups, states, and organisations, becomes null by the expansion of the khilāfah's [caliphate's] authority and arrival of its troops to their areas". Many Islamic and non-Islamic communities judge the group unrepresentative of Islam.

The United Nations has held ISIL responsible for human rights abuses and war crimes, and Amnesty International has reported ethnic cleansing by the group on a "historic scale". The group has been designatedas a terrorist organisation by the United Nations, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Syria, Egypt, India, and Russia. Over 60 countries are directly or indirectly waging war against ISIL.

The group originated as Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad in 1999, which pledged allegiance to al-Qaeda in 2004. The group participated in the Iraqi insurgency, which had followed the March 2003 invasion of Iraq. In January 2006, it joined other Sunni insurgent groups to form the Mujahideen Shura Council, which in October 2006 proclaimed the formation of the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI).

Under the leadership of al-Baghdadi, the ISI sent delegates into Syria in August 2011 after the Syrian Civil War began in March 2011. This group named itself Jabhat an-Nuṣrah li-Ahli ash-Shām or al-Nusra Front, and established a large presence in Sunni-majority areas of Syria within the governorates of Ar-Raqqah, Idlib, Deir ez-Zor and Aleppo.

In April 2013, al-Baghdadi announced the merger of his ISI with al-Nusra Front, and announced that the name of the reunited group was now the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). However, both Abu Mohammad al-Julani and Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leaders of al-Nusra and al-Qaeda respectively, rejected the merger. After an eight-month power struggle, al-Qaeda cut all ties with ISIL on 3 February 2014, citing its failure to consult and "notorious intransigence".

ISIL is known for its well-funded web and social media propaganda, which includes Internet videos of the beheadings of soldiers, civilians, journalists and aid workers, as well as the deliberate destruction of cultural heritage sites.

The group gained notoriety after it drove the Iraqi government forces out of key western cities in Iraq. In Syria, it conducted ground attacks against both government forces and rebel factions in the Syrian Civil War. It gained those territories after an offensive, initiated in early 2014, which senior US military commanders and members of the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs saw as a re-emergence of Sunni insurgents and al-Qaeda militants. This territorial loss almost caused a collapse of the Iraqi government that prompted renewal of US military action in Iraq.

What CNN says is that these followers of ISIS from the US and other countries are there fighting a war for the ISIS, because they were jobless, with no money and with no one who would follow or work under them and so got into IRAQ through the back door and joined them. They were promised a job, a wage and a wife plus people to work under them, and that was the start of the mercenaries and the scramble to join them. Also, they blame all of the TV shows and the war games that the arcades promote.
