Ok Guys. Not any good responses from CD and so let me see if any CD's atleast know answers to another situation regarding US benefits:
I have a brother who is estranged from me and is a US citizen. He was in US from 1996-2013 working full time and earning $60-100K. He left US in 2013 for the same reason that I was forced to leave Canada (ie. to be at our aging parents side). I know also a couple of others who are in TN for the same reason .
Now my question is that what benefits will they enjoy from the US govt's. Just to give an idea :
1. Will they get pension in India once they cross Age 65
2. If they become disabled in India, will their disability amount come to India?
3. Will the US govt. give a lump sum amount upon their death for funeral expenses.
We should remember that an US citizen has to file tax to the US authorities on world wide income, irrespective of your period of stay.

The only thing I am aware that your brother would be eligible is Social Security benefits at the appropriate age, assuming SS remains solvent.
He can request a copy of the personalized SS summary that would provide information regarding projected benefits under various scenarious including disability.
For all other benefits, he either needs to have the appropriate insurance coverage or his own savings.
