There are 70,000 registered posters on this Canadian Desi board. I am pretty sure there are 7000 of them here in Canada and don't want to tell us their location. (Include me in it) At least 700 are here in Ontario. 70 of them post here and reply to the queries posted. You are one of the seven who posts here with excellent replies and 0.7 will take a free offer. What!! and why 0.7?, because when it becomes an extra long response, they just stop posting to that thread. Thank you for picking this thread and thank all of us for keeping it going while you were away. Now it is my turn to take a sabbatical and I am looking forward to it.

QUESTRADE still offers a free course alongside their offices and throws in a couple of CD's for those who are interested in learning to trade. And if you all wish to avail their complete course pay for it and learn to trade and become a successful trader. They will help you all the way with all of the answers and tax planning too. They are smart and so join the group. But first go and enjoy the free part of the training.

And this is not for you.

Welcome back. At least I think I missed your posts the most and of course your posting.

FH.

On a side note : Any one who is born in Canada and starts to do work at the age of 18 as a part time worker and retires at the age of 68 has done full 50 years of service for himself. And say he starts saving a THOUSAND and moves up to THREE by the time he is 30, would have put in his own savings of an average of 25 thousand which with a return of 6% per year would be looking at a figure of 75,000 at the age of 30. If he continues with similar investing and saving till the age of 68 and at the age of 68 he will have $600000 to his name, if he does not pull it out. Anyone as a financial adviser would have made the same amount his client made if he pays 2% per annum to his adviser. And if he has 10 good clients like this, then, WOW, and if I were one such adviser, I don't want to retire. SO, what am I doing here??!! It is time I get the F*(k from here.

Well, the $600K does not include a very substantial CPP & OAS entitlement.

I'd say the CPP & OAS entitlement for someone that worked non-stop from age 18 to 68 is a lot more than $600K :D
