What is the best way to move US Dollors to Canada.
If you are planning to use ICICI bank (Customer service is very poor) but good interest rate and no charges on US dollars check deposit; you can keep one US dollar saving account and transfer online as and when require to your CAN $ checking account.
If you transfer from US bank they will charge @ 40 US$ for @ 10000 US $.

Just write a cheque using your US bank cheque book and deposit into your cdn bank account - either in cdn or US account.

It's free, money is pulled out of your US account using EFT and deposited into your Canadian account using EFT. Entire transaction takes 4 business days.
If you are in a hurry, then just pay $10 bucks to pull money out of your US account to be wired into XE's California Bank of America account and it's deposited here in Canada using Wire, this takes about a day.
The best part with XE is that you can see the rate you are getting before you hit the commit button.
The initial EFT process might take upto 10 days, so do this in advance. But once done, the account is open, there is no monthly fee etc.

No.
XE deals in 10 or so major currencies only and unfortunately INR is not one of them.
Have to go ICICI Money Transfer route for this or something similar where the rate given is unknown till the transaction completes.
