So do you mean to say that when a teacher doesn't explain with a real life example then the whole education system in India is not working. Don't you think it has to do with the type of teaching methodology or the individual who is teaching the subject?I have experienced the same education system. I have been taught by teachers who have not only explained it but practically displayed it with examples in the labs or taking us out into the nature to show how it is happening. I totally agree to your point that an individual might be money minded and won't honor the code behind education. But do you think the system has failed or the government is not paying good salaries to the teachers. I feel it is individual based since my teachers even being not well paid have our respect with the way they taught us.

I said the Indian education system has provided the baseline for almost all Indian who passed out to set up their base in any profession. Without the education system do you think some one would hire an Indian to be an Engineer. Obviously the person has to have an engineering or doctor degree to pass through. Most of the degree programs offered by the same system are recognized by all the universities and organizations. Using your argument anyone who has passed out of the system shouldn't be employed anywhere or admitted for higher education because they are not capable to understand the practical concepts of life ..LoL..I would like to make it clear here and add to the point...The governments of US and Canada would like to invite more students from outside to come, study and contribute. At the same time they have invited professionals from other educational back grounds to come and fill the requirements here. One thing that really haunts me is if the system here was so practically oriented everyone would be more than keen to pursue degree and post graduate programs. Why is that not happening? Why are most of the job requirements (not engineers or doctors) don't even want a degree. At most they need a diploma..Does it mean the job market here don't want highly educated folks to join the system and contribute..

Call center jobs are jobs and the reason they have moved to other countries is due to business profitability. It has nothing to do with any education system anywhere. These jobs were done here and are still done here by folks who pass out from the system here. It has nothing to do with the education and to my knowledge does require some skill..

It is not 1000s my friend..it's definitely more than that..

Have you seen the quality of Govt Teachers & schools ... For sure the system has failed --- No wonder why majority of people send their children to Public Schools which are better but still lack in teaching methodology .

A degree is just a degree and if you look at the countless Engineers being churned out by private colleges today , you would not consider them worthy enough - this can / could change if more result / concept oriented ed is imparted ...That is the lacking .... What do you make out of the quality when Engineers work as call center jobs which are befitting any basic educated person --------- where did that Engineering worth go to - down the drain ???

I thought you said earlier that good Engineers and Docs are not being produced here --- where is the url to substantiate that ???

I hope you have noticed the difference in costs of education here and the social welfare system which kind of works against people in educating them highly ..Plus here people tend to become independent earlier (18 or so) ---- But Asian kids do study here for higher education more proportionately .

I guess you are referring to India where Engineers work as call center pros :) ... Requirements are as per job desc ... If a job needs a diploma , that s what s needed and if a job needs a degree that s what s asked for ..... I don't understand on the one hand you state that Can /US Prezs are calling for Engineers / Docs from outside since they don't have good pros here and then on the other you are stating that the jobs offered here do not need a degree ..Clearly there s a disconnect between these 2 statements ...

Sir - please try to figure out the no. of grad engineers being produced in India anually and compare that to the numbers which come outside and become founders / co founders or land in good jobs in India . ... Your illusion will fade away ...

Anyways good night and Happy Hols ...

I feel it is better to close this discussion about the education system and quality of engineers or doctors in India and Canada here everyone has their own experience and sticking to one's ideals. That is fine with me..Let the discussion go on about Dubai v/s Canada...and not take India in the picture.

To people living in Dubai who either have their PR/Citizenship of Canada or prospective immigrant,

What do you feel about the education of your kids beyond Grade 9. My observation is that, thats the age they decide shifting their base to East or west..

How is health care in Dubai ? If you've never been west, chances are that you find the care is better than Dubai when compared to India ( at least the infrastructure / cleanliness perspective in Hospital environment).

I've seen few of my relatives have managed to put their kids to attend university education in Dubai.. would there be any shortcomings.
