I somehow find we desi's look funny (especially males) or it does not suit us, when we wear/try to wear these long black winter coats (knee length) or trench coats

i agree. it looks terrible.
i look like batman.
i bought one once and returned it after wearing once.

I think it is because of our average height and build.
our average height is less than that of typical caucasian whites.
