Travelling daily between Windsor, ON, CA and Detroit, USA

Dear Friends / Experts,

I have Canada PR and would be landing to Toronto, Canada this month. However, I have job in Detroit US on L1A visa from Indian Company.

My question is can I live in Windsor, ON, Canada and commute between Windsor and Detroit daily? Is this possible? What kind of issues / questions they may ask?

Your suggestion / inputs are most appreciated.

Yes, it is possible. As long as you have all valid and required documents to enter US and Canada, there should not be any issues.

Could you please let me know what are all the documents required.

I will have following docs:

1. Deputation letter from my Indian company
2. L1 visa

What other documents required?

I am going to throw a caution here since I am not entirely sure how it works. I don't know if L1 visa holders can enter US from Canada for the first time or it should be a direct entry into the US. Maybe, others can shed light.

However, the process of entering US for the first time is...

You will need to obtain an I-94 for the validity of your visa. So, you'll need

passport with visa
L1 document (something like a 8.5 x 11 sheet that might be the I-129 or such)
Employer letter plus any package provided to you by the employer about the company.
Degree certificates (may not be 100% required, but you never know)

It wouldn't hurt to carry the documents you took to apply for the L1 visa at the consulate, although it might not be necessary at all.

Again, since you are on L1, it is quite possible they might ask about your Cdn PR and about your intent to commute.
