World Education Services (WES) will do the evaluations. The website is http://www.wes.org/ca/index.asp. It is better to do post graduation in Canada.

Just an advice,

Don't go to WES for educational evaluation
They are really UN-PROFESSIONAL, don't know how to evaluate

It took me more than 6 months just to evaluate my qualification even when all documents are in place

they will always ask, submit this document, submit that document etc.etc.

Better do it at toronto university or some similar place

Its my personal experience

I would say you should give your best shot to get your son graduated from Canada. It makes a BIG difference to have a Canadian degree rather than from anywhere else.

Even though current economic conditions are not that good but I feel start-mid 2010 would be a bit better than the current one.

Thanks for replying and helping me out in making my decisions
The question is how the transfer of credits would be done, whether it would be considered as equivalent as he has already studied for 3 years in engineering stream, or will the evaluation be done for lower credits?
CIIP had suggested to have his credits transferred to Canadian colleges, but it would be given only 50% value, so he would lose out in terms of years that he has already completed.
I have to land before August '09, so should I just do the landing formality now and come back after my son finishes his graduation as he has only two semesters to go for getting his degree. He may have the option to pursue post graduation there as senior desies suggested. Any other inputs?
Any other suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Dear Ganesh,
I am in a similar situation like yours. My son is doing his engg 2nd Semester in an NIT in India. I had asked this question in this forum earlier but I could not get a convincing reply. One of my friends mentioned that this has to be done from India. It seems there are some consultants in metro cities like Mumbai/ Bangalore who does this but according to him it will cost about $3K. So I am thinking of letting him complete his studies in the NIT and later bring him for PG in Canada. We did not land yet but have to land before October 09. If you come across any solution for this transfer of credits pls do let me know.

I have read through your posts and I am hereby posting this link for further evaluation from your end. I am sure you will find a wealth of information in the site.
