One of the biggest problems is apathy in society today. We assume its always someone else's problem to take care of..or that "im only one person, what can I do".
Fine - so if enough people care about this issue..write a petition..circulate it online..get signatures..whatever..talk to the administration.. write newspaper editorials...
Why are you guys so hell bent on changing everything that does not make sense to "You"? There might be some reasons - valid or invalid but that's how it is. I don;t follow this Sect - so I don't know. I have not tried to search because no mater how strong it be - I won't be able to digest it. They are not asking You to 'Follow' them. If you don't like it - don't visit it. Plain as that.
There is absolutely nothing that you can do to see any change (These days I don't see any change in Vending machine either).
WTF ... Just leave them alone ... go back to your Work.

Agree with 'morning_rain'. There's a vast difference between following the rules, regulations and being mistreated. If I had experienced this incidence, I would have felt the same way and never stepped onto that place again. I am very religious and please don't be confused between going against the God and administrators. It's the administrators that are at fault.
Almighty God has given everyone the same rights, but it's the human race that differentiates.

Thank You Investpro for this info and Morning Rain for encouraging me to take a step further. Right now I am so disappointed with the whole experience that I am in the process of writing a letter to all these editors and maybe the administrators. I am not sure if its going to get noticed. And even if it does I am not sure of the implications. But no harm in trying. Atleast the next time they would be more polite in their ways if nothing else. Thats what we can hope.
Has anybody written in a complaint to the newspapers?
Anyway, lost in the excitement of the Swaminarayan mandir was the soft opening ceemony of the Laotian Buddha Temple at 17969 Airport Road.
I am sure there must be many of you who are into Gautama Buddha. If you have the time and inclination, do visit this still unfinished Temple. It has several towering Buddha statues in several different poses, one for each day of the week.
It is not as impressive as the Swaminarayan one but still worth it. The Temple is a simple structure, but there are ponds (one with a huge turtle in it) and fountains and it is quite picturesque.
Paintings inside the Temple were donated by artists from Montreal.
It is about 5 minutes by car past the Caledon Inn as you drive north on Airport Road, on the right hand side. You have to drive past it to a small sideroad called Finnerty and hang a right to get into the Temple from behind.
Enjoy!
I went yesterday to the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Little Rock, Arkansas USA ans was the first devotee to enter the temple as it was the inaugration day. I was pleased to show my kids the different gods as they have been to India when they were small kids and don't remmember much.
I could not see any segregation and when i asked for prasad the priest gave me after hesitation because i think it is not normal in BAPS mandir. But i am fine with that as this is there style.
I am just glad that i have a Mandir to vist and for my kids to be exposed to Indian heritage.
In Northern Alberta the nearest Mandir was 500 Kms away.
