Hey all,

This is a serious discussion I would love to have with each and every member of this community, first of all let me give u some brief history:

After passing his grade 12th from Xavier's in New Delhi , this kid comes to Canada , to be very specific Carleton U in Ottawa for his Engineering, used http://www.candiandesi.com" rel="nofollow">LINK yes this very site for all the helpful, correct information! .......... all this done and said the kid comes here.....did his 3 out of 4 yrs of Engineering...... currently working for IBM Software Labs on his 16 month internship....... Well.......... it looks like the kid hits bulls eye...! good education ..good job....as an intern.... wat else one wants..........

this is a small intro........ of my last 3 and a half years......... now I got friends in India....of course my school mates, my house friends, i am in touch with so many of them..... and also what i will say is not new.. India is changing.... , It has indeed changed a lot in just 5 years........ this all started to happen before I left India..... i m sure u all know about reverse brain drain.... well... my question is very similar but not the same.... all my due respect to this website ( not same ) ...

I have my parents in New Delhi with my bro and bhabz ( now thats my nick to my Bhabhi ) .....

Wat i want to tell u guys is My AIM and wat really matter to me is to live a decent living with my family ...I DONT CARE IF ITS CANADA / INDIA... and when i ask my parents they say the same.... they dont care where it is ....they just wanna be with me.....

Now said that... how India is changing....yes India still has lots and lots of probs.. but well who doesn't have problems.... Canada have its own problems..... but u got to learn , solve and live with them..

I m not saying Canada is bad, CANADA is very good country to live in, provides good opportunities to people from all over the world.... has good health care system.. i m sure some will agree and some may not..... but point being.... I respect CANADA....... but ............. y cant I live in India.... I am educated enough.....to earn a decent life and if at the end of the day all it matters is living a decent life with ur parents and as long as they are satisfied....... who cares if its CANADA / USA/ UK/ Europe/ Australia/ India.....????

I want to know wat u all think abt my thoughts...if confused / got questions/ put a reply and i can check this site every now and then.... thanks for your time !

Well .. just another teaser....if one plans to retire and go back....then why not now....?

I didnt quite understand why this is a 'serious discussion' topic. It sounds like you are aware that its personal choice where one chooses to live.

Are you seeking validation for your decision to relocate back to India?

Where ever you live be happy.
Some people take few yrs to make decision where to live and what they like. Some people can not make mind in whole life.

What I read is that you are all SET to go back.

If you are staying back then dont look for "India" in "Canada".

Hi,

I know its a personal choice, but its a choice one makes looking at the pros and cos.. is that correct? The point for this discussion is to find out the main criteria on which one decides to migrate to a new location...an example: a lot of peaple come out of villages/ backward areas of India to the cities like Delhi.....and beacause it is better in the city they choose to live and raise the family in the new location, now if i speak of before and arround early 90s , peaple moving out of India to the developed nations => same situation...

But now as India is changing .. and I do understand India is still lacking in terms of equal education for everyone... a lot of competetion...to get good education....in India.. but here education is better in terms of less compettetion... but one still has to do well in school ......all university and colleges are equal but some have better reputation....just one example where India needs to improve... but.. at this moment one can sense the change and i am sure whoever has India in recent times would agree to that....

now said that . .. I did not start this topic to justify my own decision...

I am sure all of us who have come out of India have gone through this process of dicision making.... Just want to know .. is that right? What was the basis to get to a final decision?

The more feedback and replies we get here... the better it will be for our community to decide where to live and where to give back ....

I do agree it is a personal choice ..but how would one be sure its the correct one?

Will be looking forward to more replies...

Decision making to me is --> Set Priority and go from there. Priority for everyone is different and hence the choice.

Yes Having a House is a huge plus. Mortgauge or Rent makes more than half of your Expense. So it is sure a huge.

majority of us might have or had house back in India. I haven't had of my own. I am Owner of around 1100 Sq ft in Mumbai on Paper - but it is not mine (If one knows the difference).
