Perfectly put ! I couldn't have said it better.
I feel that lack of relatives/friends in Canada and the harsh and long hours nature of jobs here (if at all one is lucky to get into a job related to his degree) gives rise to these feelings.

How is any of this going to help Pangamatle? Unless Pangamatle and Fido are the same person(I dont think they are). Maybe Pangamatle himself is going through the same issues...in which case it may help in some way.
