I agree with you TK. The parking charges is another way of taking our money. People often says health is free. it is not. it is been paid by our tax.

@febpreet,
i don't want it free. As you said nothing is free in this world. But there should be reasonable charges. If i have to go emergency easily i will pay 20$ for the parking charges due to the waiting. I think 20$ is too much for the single earning middle classs person.
I can understand your frustration and feel that the root cause of this unreasonable cost is the greed of doctors and health care professionals. While we have doctors earning in excess of $300K, the nurses in the excess of $150K and glorified medical counter dispenser (pharmacist) in the excess of $100K all unionized, regulated by self interest private body - the medical bill for the province (who have no interest to negotiate) is unfundable which drives the hospitals to recover some $$ from user charges like parking. If these health professionals are not paid well - there will not an incentive for students to take up these careers and the existing ones will migrate to locations that pay better - dont we all want to do that about our own careers?
While driving to and parking at the hospital is NOT mandatory to receive treatment - we use that facility for our ease and convenience and should be willing to pay for the facility.
A whole lot of issues exist with our public funded medical system - but we learn to adapt with what is available - whining about it is allowed at the risk of your own BP levels.
Private and user funded health care has is own demons - so there really is no 100% foolproof solution.
